F. hall, Friday, March 21, by the Ladie's Aid Society of the Presbyterian church was but another successful evening for the society,and those that went were well pleased with the program. Mrs. Daniel Morter visited friends at Monroeton Tuesday and Wednes day. Mrs. John Potter was calling on friends in Dushore Tuesday. William Meeheam spent Friday and Saturday at Towanda. Dr. Everett of Millville, Columbia Co., was shaking hands with his many friends at this place last week. William Collins was a business caller in Dushore Tuesday. 11. W. Taylor was transacting business at Lopez Thursday. William Murphy and Ilex Wilcox of New Albany were visiting friends here Friday. John Spence, who has been in Michigan for some time, returned to tiiis place last week. I'homas Fitzgerald of Long Valley visitocl friends at this place the latter part of-last week. The play in the K. of L. hall Thursday • veiling entitled "From Over the Sea," by William F. Mc- Nulty under the auspices of Wash ington Camp, Xo. 181, P. O. 8. of A. was without doubt one of the best dramas ever played «it this place and Mr.McNulty is, without any excep tion, the best actor that ever graced the stage at Berniee. Tie is the author of the above named play, •'ougs and all. Mrs. McNulty justly deserves the title she has won, "tjueen of Dramatic Art." They were ably assisted by the following ladies and gentlemen from this place: , .Mrs-, if. B. Newell, Mlsse-. Blanche ihown and Mat-tie Thurston and Ut ile Ethel Guy and Messrs. William llrown, Wm. Thayer, Win.Roberts, John Thayer, 11. W. Taylor. The above east has won for themselves honor and distinction. They played to i crowded house Thursday eve ning, and by request it was repeated Saturday evening to a good sized audience. We have been requested by the P. O. S. of A. to thank those who took part in the play, also for the generous patronage of the public. Dr. Jane, insurance agent of To wanda, was transacting official busi ness in town Friday. Mr. and Mi's. Fred Wille of Fran klin Dale, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. t«. G. Kirkendull Friday. Wm. Prague of Philadelphia, was here Tuesday looking over the site of the electric plant. Mr. Price of Philadelphia has charge of the plae ingof the machinery. .A rag bee was held at the residence of G.W. Bodie, Friday evening. •ir-. Win. Potter died at her resi dence in Shinersville, Friday eve ning, March 24, at 8 o'clock, of con umption. Aged 2"i years. The funeral was held Sunday at 10 o'clock Interment at Thrasher cemetery.
