Petitions Are Presented For and Against the Proposed Broad and Ithaca Street Connection. Waverly—The hearing of the tax- payers in regard to the proposed new street extending from Broad street to Ithaca street was held last night be- fore the village trustees as required by law. Patrick Sheahan and Nelson Lyons whose property would be crossed by the new street appeared and personally objected to the new street and Mr. Lyons stated that five out of the six property owners, whose lands were effected were against the new street. Petitions contalning 72 names were submitted, opposing the new street. L. F. Lord spoke in fav- or of itt The argument against the street was that there were plenty of building lots available and it was needless to put the village to the ex- pense which would be incurred.
