Mixup in Alley Yesterday After- noon Which Resulted Disas- trously Two teams belonging to John C. Osborn, proprietor of the Osborn house, ran away yesterday after- noon, resulting in one of the horses being seriously injured, One of the teams was engaged in hauling ashes from the alley between North Lehigh and Elmer avenues. The driver threw the end board of the wagon on the grouad and the team became frightened. The animals tore down the alley and ran into Osborn’s other team which was standing in front of the barn. The latter team also bscame badly frightened and before Mr. Osborn’s son, who was standing near, could prevent, they too dashed away. They ran into a post in the rear of the Valley House and stopped, One of the horses was badly cut about the legs, while the other one was also badly bruised. John Burt, the veterinary surgeon of Waverly, stated that he had seldom attended horses cut up so badly in a runaway, and no bones broken. The team which caused the trouble was caught by Mr. Osborn’s boy before they did any further damage. Mr. Osborn says that his driver is looking for another job. It fell to the lot of the president, then Colonel Roosevelt, to lead the Rough Rid- ers in the sensational charge up San Juan hill, that resulted in the planting of old glory on the his- toric block house atits top. This memorable act, as well as other brilliant events in the battles that have attained the growth of our country, and that has placed old glory at the topmost height among the nations of the world, are des picted in song, music and picture in the magnificent military -patriot- ic spectacle, “Th: Triumph of O!d Glory.” This splendid composition will be one of the principal features of the concert to be given at the Loomis Thursday afternoon, Octo- ber 25, by Arthur Pryor and his band, under the auspices of Wa- verly Star Chapter, No.9, 0.
