We talked with him in the afternoon and he spoke pleasantly of old times, saying that he had not been in Athens for a long ime. It was between 10 and 11 o'clock at night when he was killed REV. E. W. DEWITT PREACHED AT ATHENS Athens — The Baptist church wis filled to its greatest capacity last evening to listen to a sermon preached by Rev. E. W. Dewitt to th: P. O S. of A. Delegations from Waverly and Sayre joined with Washington camp of Athens and attended in a body. Rev. De witt is full of his old time fire and enthusiasm, and the address was a most excellent one. He took for his theme the rally cry of the order “Ged, Country and the Order,” and gave some very happy illustrations of the benevolent and patriotic work of the organization After the sermon were over, Rev. De- witt's many friends crowded around him and gave him a very generous greeting. He says that he will come again with his wife in a few weeks to make a longer stay.
