She detailed the conversation she had also with the prisoner at her own home on Friday evening after the fire Several witnesses who testifi=d ca the former tnal were also sworn yesterday and their testimony did not differ matenally fiom the fist story they told. It is believed that the commonwealth 1s making even a stronper case than at the first trial. [tis quite probable that the prosecution will have the common wealth’s evidence all before the jury by the end of the week The trial is not attracting as much attention as formerly. Yes. terday and today but a few specta- tors have been present, but the case has not as yet gone far enough to be of absorbing interest ——————— WAGON DEMOLISHED A bakery wagon to D. D King was almost completely demolished yesterday afternoon near the cold storage, and the fact that the driver, Bert Kinney, was not seriously injured 1s considered as miraculous. A spirited team of horses was hitched to the wagon, and while he was dnving along Elmer avenue the pole broke. The team became frightened and ran away, upsetting the wagon, and throwing Kinney violently to the ground. Fortunately he was un hurt, but the wagon was reduced belonging to a wreck—cakes, pies, and other bake stuffs being unceremoniously scattered along the ground. The team ran as far as the Elmer ave- nue school building and stopped of their own accord. HIS LIFE IN DANGER Because he is alleged to have unreagonably whipped a young girl ne X a pupil in his school Elliott Newton, a teacher in the public schools of Keating Summit, Potter county, was asked to resign by the authorities. He complied with their request and went to work for the Emporium Lumber Company and now he has received a letter through the postoffice noti fying him that unless he flees the country his life is in danger. A postoffice inspector has been de- tailed on the case and an effort will be made to catch the leiter writer.
