LEFT FOR THE WEST LAST EVENING Clark A. Tobias Will Hereafter Reside at Davenport, Ia. Clark A. Tobias, who has been connected with the W. S. & A. Traction Company for years, and who has recently been the assistant superintendent for the company, left last night for Davenport, Ia, where he will in the future reside. Mrs. Tobias is already in that city, having remained there since her mother’s death and burial some weeks ago. The departure of Mr. Tobias will cause keen regret on the part of his many friends. He was one of the best known men in the valley and by reason of pos- sessing a pleasing personality along with correct business meth- ods he acquired friends by the score. For the past three years he was manager of the Loomis opera house, during which time the theatre has steadily increased in public favor, the attractions for the most part having been of a high order. Mr. Tobias will engage in business for himself in the west. LOCAL MENTION Forest fires have already broken out in many parts of the state.
