Rural Amity lodge No. 70, R A. M., had another delightful meeting last evening. There were about 150 present, one half of them being visiting brethren from other lodges. The third degree was worked and an elegant banquet was served The ladies of the Presbyterian missionary society held their ans nual meeting this afternoon at the church parlors. They are receiving many new members, and the meet- ing was very enjoyable. Supper was served at the conclusion of the business session, tee James Watson returned from New York last evening and brought with him Mr. F. Goutofski and Ernest Rosenfeldt, two skill ful workmen who will be employed by him hereafter. Mr, Watson has had such an increase in busi- ness that he was obliged to get the date his customers. Rev. A F. von Tobel of Camden, N J, was in town yesterday mak- ing arrangements to move his family, as he is to become pastor of the Presbyterian church, April 1 He will occupy the pulpit Sunday, April 1, commencing his pastorate at that time. He was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Jordan last evening, returning to Camden this morning. LADIES LIBRARY CLUB The meeting of the Ladies Li brary club yesterday afternoon was unusually interesting and very largely attended. Mrs. Andrew H Sawtelle was chairman and Mrs Dr. C. H. Ott presided. The musical part was taken largely from the compositions of Verdi The opening number was a piano duet by the Misses Corbin and Jordan, the “Triumphal March from Aida’ Mrs. Hayden followed with a reading, “An Afternoon with Verdi.” Mrs. Dr. Rinebold sang a solo from Trovatore, then Misses Corbin and Jordan gave a piano duet from Mozart and Mrs Murray gave a talk on Wagner's operas. Mrs. Philip Hessel of Wilkes-Barre sang a beautilul solo, “May Morning,” by Darzo; Mr, C. E Loectzer of Sayre gave a very excellent address on Sanitary Reg ulations. This subject is now re- ceiving so much attention from the people in the valley that the address was of absorbing interest. The scientfic investigation of municipal and health authorities has had such a divergent tone as to awaken a more determined re- scarch along the line of practical methods.
