The proprietor of the Campbell House, Banks boards, kept the wires hot trying to run down the report but without avail. There seemed just enough plausibility in the rumor to give it credence around the streets and for a time Sherm Dubois and Chas. Ostrander were in mourning, for Banks is a member of the gun club and they were not ready to bid him farewell. Last night Banks came in and took his room at the hotel as usual.
