Waverly—A very quiet wedding

The Same Old Story
Waverly—Miss Anna Sullivan,
a dressmaker, occupying rooms in
the McCarthy block, corner Broad
and Clark streets, was cleaning a
pair of kid gloves with gasoline
last evening at about 6 o'clock,
when the gasoline ignited from a
lighted gas jet. A still alarm was
sent into the fire department head-
quarters and a part of the depart-
ment responded promptly. The
alarm was unnecessary as before
the fire company's arrival the fire
had been extinguished. It was
said this morning that Miss Sulli-
van is nursing a slightly buraeed
hand.

Waverly—The members of the
order Knights of Columbus have
arranged a series of dances and
cuchre parties for the coming fall
The first dance will
be held in their hall next Wednes
day evening, September 13. Their
parties last year were much enjoyed
by large numbers of people and no
doubt the first one of this year's
series will be well patronized.
