Try itl PROSPECTUS. —"Of making many books there is no end," and the multiplication of newspapers is the popular source of educat ing the people. We are aware that tbe idea is quite preyelent that Bradford County has too many papers, but with the large number not one is wholy devoted to the interest of the great producing class—the agricultur ists—and at the urgent solicitation of some of the best practical farmers in the county, we have decided to commence about the first of the new year, a local agricultural weekly, especially adapted to the wants of the farmers of this section. The contributors to the paper will embrace the best practical farmers in the county, and we shall aim to make it of real value to every tiller of the soil, dairy man and stock raiser in the county, by giv ing the results of experiments by those in whom the classes interested have confidence, and whose success in business is an evidence fo thorough practical knowledge. The paper will contain a condensation of the general news and the fullest local notes. Fuller particulars hereafter. Buy the Waverly crackers. FITCH has some very handsome Christmas tree decorations, which people attending court will do well to call and examine. Wanted, 3 copies each of the REVIEW dated respectively Aug. 14 and 2G, and Sept. 3 and 13, 1881. All owners of real estate shonld remember that under the laws of this Commonwealth . all deeds and conveyances which are not re corded six months after they are made will be regarded as void and fraudulent against any subsequent purchaser, and hence it is of the highest importance that our farmer friends should examine their old deeds and see if the Recorder's certificate is indorsed upon them, with the time of record, book and page given. If the certificate is not in dorsed, the deed has not been recorded. Per sons having unrecorded deeds in their poss ession will have an excellent opportunity to tiring or send them to the Recorder during the present session of Court. MONROE ITEMS.-S. C. Naslee and lady, after having spent some thirteen months away, have both of them struck terra firma in Monroe again, looking rather improved by their let up. and rest from the more laborious pursuils of life for a time. They are wel come to their old home again. My little friend Eugene Cole, brought me in what he called his politics, the other mor ning, in the shape of a spare-rib, weighing about twelve pounds, averaging a pound for each year of his age. His curley little head is often in to see me on such errands, and I can endorse him and his politics both, if that was a fair specimen. N. D. P. Report of committee on resolutions: WHEREAS, The for against whom we are eon tending is powerful an 1 aggressive, ruthlessly and relentlesrly spreading desolation and ruin on every hand, regardless alike of the appeals of Mercy or the claims of Justice, and whereas the wisest and most efficient measures have thus far proven insuf ficient to brake up the obnoxioue licpior traffic and rid society of this terrible scourge, therefore: Resolved: —l. That we urge all temperance work ers in every brunch of the sarvice to greater exer tion. 2 That we earnestly Invite all friends of humani ty to join us in this great conflict for tin: right. 3. That we respketfully but earnestly urge npon every friend of society the reasonableness and im portance of refusing under any and all circumstanc es to sign petitions for license to sell intoxicants. 4. That inasmuch as the supreme court of Penn sylvania rules that the granting of licenses is whol ly at the discretion of the district judge, we shall continue to remonstrate against the granting of any licences to sell intoxicants, leaving the judge and petitioners to take all the responsibility of forcing these pernicious pest-houses into our communities. 5 That we in unison with all other temperance lodges, demand of our state legislature as a right that that body atl'ords us an opportunity to vote on the proposed constitutional amendment to prohibit the manufacture and sale of ardent spirits to be used as a beverage. 6. That the wholesale peddling of lager beer through the country, with the persistent efforts of the dealers to introduce the beverage into lite fam ilies of respectable c'tiZcns is a new feature in the liquor traffic and one which demands the earnest attention of temperance workers. We therefore call upon all good people to unite in devising means for the suppression of this mctcod of extending and increasing the sale of intoxicating beverages. 7. Thaf our thanks are due the trustees of the Presbyterian church for the use of their house, and the good people for their hospitality in entertaining this convention. Resolutions unanimously adopted.
