Try <l, LEARN A TRADE.—Judge DEXTER seteuc ed five criminals yesterday. Of all the num ber but one claimed to haye a trade. This certainly seems a very sigmficent fact. There is no doubt but what if more of the boyw il this generation would learn trades, the i 4*- ons would not be so fnll. Young men, il i are without a profession, learn a trade, aJ when you have selected one after your e, go to work with a will, and make up four mind to thoroughly conquer it, and be a mas ter workman. You will never fear then, with ordinary geod health, for your bread and butter, for even in hard times first-class workmen are always in demand, while the inferior ones stand about idle. There is no danger of a young man who starts life with such an object in view, and sticks to it, ever being before a judge fer sentence, but there is a strong probability that he will occupy an honorable and pleasant position in society, and be looked up to and respected.— Elmira Advertiser.
