At a special meeting of the Council held Saturday eveniug, September 3rd, 1881, present Councilmen Frost, Gordon llol comb, McCabe, Spalding aud Burgess Al ger, the following Ordinances were pass ed, the first two unanimously aud the last with all the members present in the af firmative except Councilman McCatye, who voted in the negative: FOURTH STREET. Be it enacted by the Burgess and Town Council of the Borough of Towauda, aud it is hereby euacted by the authority of the same, that North Fourth Street be widened three (3) feet on Lombard Street and twenty-five (25) feet where said street strikes the land of the estate ot William Mix, aud through said estate land North, so that said street will be fifty (50) feet in width from the South liue of the estate of Wm. Mix and be opened, and is here by ordained and opened, from said Lom bard Street northerly, according to the following lines aud directions : Beginning at a corner on south side of Lombard Street, three (3) feet west of the south-east corner of Daniel O'Boyle's lot; thence north 27 deg. west one hun dred and two (102) feet to a corner; thence north 14J deg. west six hundred and eighty-five and five-tenths (685 5 10) feet to a corner on land of Mrs. Huston; thence north 79| deg. east twenty-live and six one-huudredths (25 6-100) feet to a corner in North Fourth Street, now open; thence south 14} deg. east seven hundred and eighty-four and ffve-tenths (784 5-10) feet to a corner on north side of Lombard Street to place of beginning. STATE STREET. And be it further ordained by the au thority aforesaid, That a public street forty-three (43) feet in width, to be known as State Street, to be opened, and is hereby ordained and opened from Main Street west according to the following courses and distances: Beginning at a corner five and four tenths (5 4-10) feet north of the north cast corner of the wall of the Wm. Wat kin's house on west line of Main Street; thepce south 87 deg. 39 m. west sevsa hundred and sixty-nine and four-tenths (7C9 4-10) feet to a corner, forty-three and five-itlinthp (43 5-10) feet south of the south-west corner of the Ellen Ward Mil ler house; thence south 87 deg. west six teen hundred and forty aud seven teuths (1640 7-10) feet to a corner; thence north 44 deg. 35 m., west three hundred aud twenty feet to a corner in the west line of said Borough; theucc north 11 deg. m., east about fifty-two (52) feet along said Borough liue to a corner; thence 6outh 44 deg. 35 m., east three hundred and twenty-five (325) feet to a corner; thence north 87 deg., east sixteen hun dred and twenty and seven-tenths (1620 7-10) feet to a corner; thence north 87 d. 89 m., east seven hundred and sixty-nine and four tenths (769 4-10) feet to a corner on west line of Main Street; thence south 6 deg, 39 m., west forty-three (43) feet along west line of Main Street to place of beginuiug. GRANT STREET. And be it further ordained by the auth ority aloresaid. That a public street forty (40) feet in width, to be known as Graut Street, to be opened, and is here by ordained and opened from Main Street west according to the following courses and distauces: Beginning at a corner iu the west liue Of Main Street, at the north-east corner of I. B. Humphrey's lot; thence north 84 deg. 38 m., west two hundred aud fifty fnx and seveuty-five one hundredths (266 75-100) feet along the north liue ot said Humphrey's lot to a corner in east line of Second Street, und twenty-four (24) feet cast of on iron pin set in centre of Sec cud Street, thence north 4 deg. 40 m. cast forty (40) feet to a corner in east liue of Second Street; thence south 84 d. 80 m. east two hundred aud fifty-six and seventy-five one hundredths (256 75-100) feet to a corner in west line of Main st.; thence south 7 deg. 22 m., west forty (40) feet along west line of Maiu Street to place ol begiuning. The regular monthly session of the Borough Council wes held Monday even fng, Sept. 5, 1881 at which all the mem bers were preseut except Councilman Eahm. The minutes of the last Regular Meet- ing were approved as published. An ap propriation of twenty dollars was made for the payment of the |Band on the oc casion of the annual parade of the Fire Department, and on motiou of Mr. Hol comb the Council resolved to attend in a corporate body to inspect the Depart ment and participate in the parade. Bills amounting to nine hundred and ninety-two dollars and four cents were examined aud approved by the finance committee and ordered paid. SCHEDULE.
