The very severe drought through which
this section is now passing tends greatly to
make a shortage of a few of our leading crops.
Corn will hardly a fair yield, potatoes are
" few in a hill," while the "pan cake" pro
duction for which Bradford county is noted,
will fall off" very much. Cur honey is scarce
too, occasioned by the severity of last winter,
and the failure to house the bees, which will
very much mitigate any anguish which may
be superinduced by the absence of that pala
table and substantial breakfast dish during
the coming winter.
MONROE PERSONALS.— Mrs. D. J. Sweet
with her sprightly little son, Lee, are spend
ing a vacation with friends in Williamsport
and Ralston, just for a change of air and
scenery, and an exchange of civilities.
Mrs. Jennie Rliinevault has returned from
interviewing Rev. Morris and family and oth
er friends in Mainsburg.
We are rejoiced that the Doctor (Hall) al
lows us to say that W. A. Park, Esq. is de
cidedly improving. A speedy recovery to
him. r * r*
