W. j The Catalonia the steamer on which Mr. j SHAW and family have engaged passage for their trip to Europe, made her trial voyage j from Liverpool, sailing on the 6HI inst, and • arrived in New York Sunday night 21st. She was delayed in consequence of fracture of the screw shaft. The Catalonia is one of five new vessels contracted for by the Cunard Company, to be completed before the end of this year. She j a large and powerful vessel, 43) feet in length, 43 feet beam, 35 feet- depth of hold and 4,650 tons measurement. She is strongly built of iron, yvit.li six water-tight iron bulk heads reaching from Hie keel to the main deck and lias three full decks. Each deck is of iron plate, running from stem to stern, securely riveted to each beam and also to the ' sides of the ship thus adding greater strength to the vessel. She is fully supplied yvitii life- ; boats of the best construct ion, each furnished with sails, oars, provisions and water-casks and signalling apparatus, and the vessel i furnished with every means for the remedy of tire or accident. The accommodations for cr.bin and steerage passengers are complete in every particular. The vessel is command ed by Captain GILL. She will start on her return trip Saturday.' Mass., Mr. Moody's old home, under whose auspices it was established. Dr. Bonar. the celebrated Scottish divine and Bible scholar, is to be present.
