J GENEKAN ORDER No. 7. The Legislature at its last session passed a furth er supplement to the M ilitery < 'ode of Pennsylvania, which lias been promulgated by General Orders No. 9, from llead-qiiarters National Guard of Penn sylvania. The following are among the provisions of the said Act, approved June Bth, 1881 : 1. That t ere shall he held once in every year an encampment of the National Guard, not to exceed j eight days duration at such time and place us the | Commander in Chief shall direct; the annual in spection by the Adjutant General, shall be made during said encampment; the troops shall b or titled to transportation, and subsistence, and be paid for live days only, as follows : Ist. Sergt, $3 00; Hergts. £2 00; Corporals 6175; musicians and privates, 61 50 per day. Companies shall be in spected during the month of April or May, of each year, at their company rendezvous, for which no pay is allowed. 2. Sections 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 10, 14 and 15, of said Act reads as follows: That any soldier failing to appear upon an,/ oc casion of duty to which he shall be ordered, by his proper commanding olliccr shall be subject to frial by such Court Martial as the Brigade Conn lander may direct, and upon conviction, failing to render good and suttleient cause therefor, shell be sentenc ed to pay a line not exceeding twenty live dollars, or upon his failure to pay such tiuo within twenty days, to a term of imp' onm.nt not exceeding thirty days, as such Court Martial may direct. SECTION 9. That when the lines or dues imposed by the Company By-Laws, shall amount in the ag gregate to live dollars, the person dolinqti n* may he prosecuted before a regimental or battalion Court Martial, and upon his conviction or failure t > present a satisfactory excuse, be shall be sentenced to pay the same, or on his failure so to do, within twenty days after such sentence, to undergo an im prisonment not exceeding live days. SECTION 10. Every arm. uniform and equipment issued by the State, shall be used only in the dis charge of military duty, and any non-commissioned officer or private, who shall willfully or wantonly, injure or destroy any uniform, arm, equipment or .other properly beloneing to the Slate, or the regi ment or battalion, or company, and refuse to make good such injury or loss, or who shall sell, dispose of, secrete or remove the same with intent to sell | or dispose thereof or who shall fail within six days ] after being notified to return the same to the Bta'o ir commanding olliccr, shall be tried by Court Martial, and sentenced tJ pay a line of not more than fifty dollars, or undergo an imprisonment in the county jail of not more than sixty days, and all j clothing, camp and garrison equipments, ordnance, j ordinance stores and quartermaster stores issued by the State or fabricates from material issued by the State, and charged against the company allowance, or for which commutation lias bi cn paid, shall be the property of the State of Pennsylvania. SECTION 11. if any person shall knowingly and willfully purchase or receive in pawn or pledge, any arm, accoutrement, article of military clothing, or equipment, tent or Hag or any quartermaster or ardinunc store, the property of the State of Penn sylvania, lie shall be guilty of misdemeanor and being convicted thereof i i any Court of (Quarter Sessions of the proper counties, shall be sentenced to an imprisonment not exceeding one year and a line 1 ot exceeding three hundred debars. SECTION 12. The publication according to milita- \ ry usage of the printed or written orders, from or. through regiment or batalion headquarters, by the ) company commander, or proscribed in the bv-lavvs, j announcing the duty to be performed, shall be suf- j ficient warning to the officer or soldier directed to; perlorm such duty. Bin t ION 13. That military duty shall require the attendance of commissioned oftlcers, lion-commis sioned otlieers, musicians and privates on all occa sions of Grills, parades, encampments and active service ordered by the commanding officer of the company, regiment battalion, brigade, division or the commander-in-chief or provided for by the cein pany by-laws, unless excused therefrom by the of ficer having authority to graut such excuses; and that while on suth duty, or going to or returning from the sa ne,Jubedieiicc shall he rendered to all rules, regulations usages, costoms and requirements j of the army of the United States and of the code j and regulations of the State of Pennsylvania. SECTION 11. All lines and penalties imposed and ' collected thraugh the sentence of court-martial shall | be paid to the Secretary of the Commonwealth. SECTION 15. That the keepers and wardens of all J county jails are required to receive and confine all j ; military offenders when delivered under the proper certificate of commitment of general or regimental court-martial or a field olMcer's court. 11. Attendance at drills, parades, encampments ( and such duty as is required by company by-laws S 'snow demanded of all who are members of the | National Guard, and those who do not render such . service will be dealt with as provided in above see- j tien*. HI. For the benefit of the command, it is nnnotiru - \ ed that the Annual Encampment for 18-81 will prob; - bly be held at M'ilkesbarro or Danville and contin- \ ue for about seven days bet.w -en the 19th and 25th I of August. Ail members of the company should make the necessary and proper arrangements to be j able to render such service, since none can now be excused unless for sickness. Tile captain is requir ed to account for all men o:i the rolls under oath and all men not present at the lining encampment 1 and inspection, will be reported absent icit/iout /rare, unless excused on account of sickness or ab sence from the Btate. IV. Each man in the company shares in the cred- ! it of receiving a good report for the company at the next inspection and the commander therefore urge p | the attendance at all regular and special drills i:i or- j der that the company may equal if not excel in! drill and discipline, any company in the Guard- j V. All the members of the cempany will be re- j quired to attend rifle practice during the season, and if not in attendance on the regular days ap pointed for practice, will bo required to attend at ! such special practice as may be lixed hereafter. .1.
