Judge LINN went down to Wyalusing Thursday afternoon to note the changes that time has wrought in forty years. He made his home there while an engineer on the X. B. Canal, more than forty years ago, and boarded with the late HENRY GAYLORD.— Judge S' ALFOKD, who was one of his friends atvhat time, entertained him over night and yesterday morning before the train came up drove him around the neighborhood that he might note the changes and improvements, not the least, of which is the railroad which oceupi s the site of the canal that he assist ed in building. A freight conductor named TAYXTAN, was hi.led by an engine at, GiUett's on Thursday. Doctor TAYLOR, at the Uiiiversalist church will to-morrow morning discourse on "Salva tion through Christ." In the evening his theme will be, "The Unchangeable God," The Post Olfiee Department has ordered an increase of service on the route from Brown town to Sugar Run* from six to twelve times per week, to begin July 1. The Bradford Baptist Association re-con vened at 9 a. m., Wednesday and spent one and a-half hours in a business session. At 10:40, Rev. G. M. SPRATT, D. D. preached a very interesting and instructive sermon, from the account of the disciples' {fruitless lishing excursion, which was so gloriously changed when Christ appeared and bade them cast the net once more on the right side of the ship. RAYMOND of West Franklin, af ter which an hour of free conference and it was a glorious dessert after a good feast. Republican County Committee. The Following resolution was unanimous ly adopted: Resolved, That in presenting the name of our Seniitor, Hon. W. T. Davies, as a candidate for the nomination for the office of State Treasurer, we offer one whose past record is the best guarantee of a tit and worthy choice. By his conduct as a leg islator, Mr. Davies has shown a knowledgo of pub lic affairs, an ability to deal with great questions and a zeal and fearlessness in discharging his duty which has gained him a recognition throughout the State as one whom the common wealth may fitly honor. Hon. GEO. LAXDON, J. MONROE SMITH and O. !). KINNEY were elected Representa tive delegates and R. A. MERCUR recommen ded as Senatoral delegate to the State Con vention, Mr. SANDERSON offered the follow ing resolutions which were adopted: Resolved, That we heartily approve and endorse the administration of President Garfield. Resolved, That we approve of the course of our Senators and Representatives in the Legislature during its past session. The Chairman was authorized to appoint an executive committee of nine members and a treasurer. A committee was also appointed to report to the next county convention on the advisability of changing the basis of rep- I'escntation in County Convention.
