DAILY
TOWANDA REVIEW.
TOWANDA, PA., TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 1881.
Monroe.
Rev 11. Armstrong has received a call from
the Presbyterian church at Aspinwall corn
ers in Wells township, this county.
quite certain that he heeds the call, but it is
certain that it is agood place, where the "light
afflictions*' fall few and far between. They
are said to work wonders for a minister some
times.
A drenching rain did not prevent the Shale
Si-ters from drawing a full house last even
ing at the 31. E. Church. And then there
was "little Myrtle:" all combined to draw
and entertain. The audience was as wet as
Gideon's fleece; but what of all that? Xo
body knew it or thought of it. Even the in
valids never recurred to their wet clothing
during all the entertainment, and did a com
gregation go away better satisfied. We could
not decide which they were best capacitated
to do, to sing a spirit up to glory, or to sing
an angel down to listen. Some one else must
determine it.
Mrs. De Plume is like one of your Michi
gan lady readers and correspondent, she is
certain to grab up the REVIEW the first thing
when the mail comes in. She is a hearty old
republican. N. D. PLUME.
