Miss LOUISE IIALE WOODFORD, who has just graduated at a young ladies school in Al bany, X. Y., is visiting Major HALE'S family at "Woodside." The young lady is a grand daughter of the late A. 31. COE, who was well known here, having at one time resided in Towanda. LARGE EEL.— An eel caught in the lake at Pond Hill the other day measured 4 feet and six inches in length and weigoed eight lbs. SCOTT WATSON, a workman at the nail mill caught his hand in a pully and was quite badly injured between 3 ond 4 o'clock this morning. Dr. WOODBURN was summoned and dressed the wound. As the proposals are to be forwarded to Washington, several days will elapse before it is known who has got the contract. BRADFORD BAPTIST ASSOCIATION. —The forty-ninth annual meeting of this body will be held with the Troy Baptist Church next week Tuesday, June 21, commencing at 2 p. m. Daily sessions till Thursday noon the 23d. WILLIAM GAIJUIHAN and STONE DODGE, two discharged nail-works men, had some misunderstanding iu settling yesterdar after noon, and threatened 3lr. RENDALLwith per sonal violence; in fact they armed themselves with clubs and made such demonstrations that Mr. R. had them arrested.
