Like eve rything else set before his guests Mr. TIDD'S chowder is excellent. The programme for the parade and dedica tory services of the Odd Fellows Temple in Elmira on the 16th inst., has been arranged, and the demonstration promises to be one of the largest ever made by the order in South ern New York. The procession will include encampments and lodges from Southern and Central New York and Northern Pennsylva nia. The procession will be headed by a company of Patriarchs and several bands of music. The evening exercises will consist of the ceremonies of the order, closing with a grand ball. A FORMER TOWANDA LAD INJURED.—We find the following in the Elmira Free Press of Wednesday evening: Walter Scott Stoll, the youngest son of Geo. C.Stoll, was run over this morning by a team drawing a load of straw, lie with a number of other children was playing in the street near his home when the accident happened. It does not seem possible that the driver of the team saw him. Dr. J. E. Weaver was summoned and upon examining the lad dis covered that his collar hone was broken, sev eral ribs fractured and such severe internal injuries sustained that it is very doubtful that tlie child lives. It is astonishing that he was not killed instantly, as both the forward and hind wheels of the wagon passed over his body. BICYCLING.—Messrs. E. G. MERCUR.G. R. WRIGHT, E. AY. STURDEVANT and J. G. CARPENTER, members of the AVilkes-Barre Bicycle Club, spent Decoration Day in Hazle ton and delighted the people with an exhi bition of riding their new and elegant bicycles up and down Broad street, and taking a run around the race course at the Park during the afternoon. These gentlemen state that roads between Ilazleton and Ilarleigh and on the south side between Audenried and Jeans ville are in excellent condition for bicycling. They made the trip to Audenried fr.om (lie Central Hotel in forty-five minutes, and dis mounted but once when going up the hill in Jeanesvillc, and returned in the same time. Mr. STURDEVANT rode out to the Mountain House, overlooking Butler Valley, and was gone but a short time. Remarkable speed can be made on these bicycles, which are of the most improved style, and range in price from §BO to §IOO. AVhen going down grade they are regulated by a brake, and the rider can. if he chooses, take his feet from the treadle cranks and allow the bicycle to go down a hill at any desired rate of speed. The AVi Ikes-Bar re club consist of nine members, who all belong to the National Bicycle League, which already numbers about 1,800 members, and their visit lias been the means of causing a movement here, which will probably give Ilazleton a bicycle club in the near future.— Ilazleton Sentinel.
