DURUZ. of this place, has secured a responsible and lucrative position with a rail road company in New York city. Mrs. LEROY GLEASON and son CHARLIE, of Canton, Pa., were in the city yesterday on their way to Tioga and Wellsboro, where they are to spend a few weeks with her brothers, one of them being Senator MITCH ELL, of the latter place.— Elmira Adv. The bride and groom looked their very best, and were the happy recipients of many heartfelt wishes for the length, happiness, and prosperity of their future lives, also numerous gifts as an expression of the same, which were both elegant and substantial. The happy couple left on the morning train followed by a shower of old shoes, rice and slippers. The funeral of the late JAMES BRINK will take place at the residence of ex-Sheriff LAY TON, at 9: 30 this morning. The pastor and most of the members of the Freewill Baptist Church at East Troy, have decided to unite with the Troy Baptist Church. To those who have no "music 111 their souls" the unique costumes to be worn by the par ticipants in the "Old Folks" Concert this evening, will be well worth the price of ad mission. The rare medicinal virtues of the lemon are now generally admitted by physicians, and the liberal use of lemonade as a beverage recommended. WICKHAM, at the post-office, makes an excellent quality of this palatable and healthy drink. We hear of several houses being damaged by lightning this week. During the shower on Monday evening Mr. SADDLER'S house at East Troy and CHAS. TERRY'S in Terry twp. were struck. Early yesterday morning Mr. TUTTLK'S residence at North Orwell was hit, and about the same time the house of a Mr. YANNESS in Standing Stone was con siderably shattered. People troubled with rheun a ism or any chronic disease, are almost certain to find relief by visiting the Slaterville Springs. The cost of stayiug at the "Fountain House" is very moderate, while the accommodations are far superior to those afforded at most summer watering places. In the interest of the suf fering we commend these springs, as we know their healing virtues from experience. The Burlington correspondent of our big contemporary the Reporter furnishes that paper with this interesting item: "Most people familiar with Burlington will remember the neat white dwelling house owned by W. 11. Fire from a burniDg building at one of the mines in Leadville spread to the pow der magazine on Wednesday, causing a terrific explosion. Every building in the city was shaken.
