MADE A MISTAKE.—An intelligent gentle man in the first ward who subscribed for the REVIEW two months ago, came in yesterday, and said lie was almost sorry he had com menced to take it, for the reason- that his family now could not get along with it. The indications now are that every branch of business in Northern Pennsylvania will be good this year. Tlie long run of sleighing has enabled the lumbermen to got in a large stock to their mills; the tanning interests are prosperous, the glass trade is good; the works at this place and Covington are running to their fullest capacity; tlie cigar and tobacco factories are increasing their force; the boot and shoe manufactory of HUMPHREY BROS. A TRACT is daily increasing its trade, the carriage, wagon furniture and other manu factories in wood, are crowded with orders. New railroads are to be built, which will re quire a large force of workmen, the demand for coal and coke is fair, and altogether the prospects for a good business year flattering. —BlDssburg Industrial Register. The Elmira Telegram, in noticing the re sult of a divorce suit in which a Mrs. PENNY of Tioga county, N. Y., was plaintiff, refers to parties who figured in the courts of this county a few years since. It says: "In January, 1873, unfortunately for her, the plaintiff in the above case, married this man. She resided at Barton at the time, and main tained a good reputation in social circles. Soon after their marriage PENNY went from bad to worse, deserting his brive, taking up his abode with a disreputable woman in the immediate neighborhood of Chemung, where they so cruelly tieated the little child taken from the Orphans' Home of this city, that they were arrested, tried and sentenced to a year's imprisonment in the Towanda jail. Being released he continued his downward career, being an inmate of three or four more jails and finally bringing un in State's prison. PENNY is well connected, of respectable par entage and was educated at the Waverly Academy. He is a criminal from pure euss edness, not from circumstances or necessity, aud his wife is well rid of his miserable pres ence. She is a modest appearing little woman and is deserving of the sympathy of the com munity in her unfortunate alliunce with this man. PENNY'S time, it is said, has about expired, and he will soon be released. BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS. — The large .hot houses of Mr. JAMES C.
