ERRATUM —Yesterday's edition was dated February? 1, but it was not printed on Sunday; the error was probably occa sioned by the fact that our foreman got to the ollide at two o'clock A. M. Republican Convention. The Convention called to select dele gates to the State Convention assembled in the Court House last evening and was called to order by Chairman Peck. On motion Dr. O. 11. Rockwell, the gentleman who so successfully presided over the Convention two years ago, was called to the Chair, and Tnos. E. MYKR and A. C. FANNING, elected Secretaries. After the roll cull hud been completed Mr. Ilolcomb offered a series of resolu tions instructing the delegates to be cho sen to the State convention to support Blaine delegates to the National Conven tion, and oppose the adoption of the unit rule. J, W. Ingham offered a substitute, declaring against instructions. On mo tion of Mr. (/'arnociian, action on the res olutions was deferred until after the elec tion of delegates. A ballot for delegates to the State Con vention resulted as follows; C. E. Cladding, 70 I'. J. Dean, 94 Alex. C. Elsbree, 80 J. Ilolcomb, 24 H. J. Mudill, 20 Cladding, Dean and Elsbree were de clared elected. For Senatorial delegate Keleon Packard was recommended, re ceiving 91 votCs against 12 lorCeneral Mudill. It is proper to state that Gen. Madill's nomination was unauthorized, and it was generally understood by dele gates that he could not attend if elected, After a long discussion on resolutions of instruction, participated in by Messrs Carnoehan, Ilolcomb, Da vies and Landon, the resolutions were indefinitely postpon ed, and the delegates go to Ilarrisburg untrammeled. To test the sentiment of the convention, Hon. Geo. Landon moved that "it is the sense of this convention, all things being equal, that Jus. G. Blaine is the lirst choice of the Republicans of Bradford for President," which was adopted without a dissenting voice. After which the convention adjourned. REVIEW !
