BURGLARS ABROAD.—The Corning
Journal says'that the houses of three citizens of
that village were entered hy; burglars last Friday
night.week. The rascals get little booty.
The same paper says that the mail train on the
Tioga railroad came near smashing up near Mill
creek, Tuesday of last week, A wheel of the
baggage cur came off, and flung the car off the.
track. The train was poring slowly, or great
damage might have been done.' '

DEATHS
, In Farmington, April 25, of droPsy on the
chest, BETgEY, Vire of Walter Vaitdusen, aged 76
years.
She was one of the first settlers, and endured
the toils and privations incident to the early set-'
tiers of the plitce. She leaves a bereaved hus
band and a large family of children to mourn the
lose of a wife and mother. She was born Nov.
18, 1796, and baptised into the fellowship of the
Daptist church in 1826. She died in the triumph
of a living faith. E. D. F. -

18, 1857, to prevent cattle, ie., from running
at large in the borough of 'Mansfield:
On motion, Resolved, by the Burgess and
Council of the borough of 'Mansfield, and it is
hereby ordained by authority of the same, That
(from and after due publication of this supple
ment) all that portion of an ordinance passed
April 18, 1857, permitting mulch cows to run at
large in said borough, be and the same is hereby
