A gentlemen states an extraordinary case, that of his wife, who was reduced so low by a pulmonary complaint, that symp toms of approaching dissolution began to exhibit themselves, so that her Physician intimated that nothing further could be done for her—that her case was past hu man skill, and the Doctor observed shortly after, while at a neighbors, that Mrs. W. was about to leave as. The same evening a relation recommended a trial of these (Relfe's Asthmatic) Pills, they were accord ingly administered, producing such rebel, and effecting so favorable a change during the night, that in the morning strong hopes were alibi ded of at least a partial restoration of her health, which was elfe.cted, and made comparatively comfortable by a continued sue of these Pills. PHILADELPHIA, August.l6tli, 1838. MS. ATICINSON--Dear Sir: A few weeks ago I noticed in your paper, an account of the surpri sing effects of Jayno's Carminative, in restoring a great number of passengers on board a Missis sippi steamboat, to perfect health who wore effec ted with Dowel Complaint. I was glad to see vou notice it so kindly; you may rest. assured it 'deserves the praise bestowed upon it. The ben efit I hove received from this medicine, More es pecially his Expectorant, induces mo to state my Case to y 01.14010 bene fi t of those who are oink led in the same Way. It has boon my misfortune, sir, to' labor under a cough and ustlimatical op pression, for more than ball* a century. When a soldier in the American camp, in 1778, I, with ninny others, (owing to great exposure,) lied violent attack of disease of the Lungs,by a liich I was disabled from duty for a long time. Since that period until recently, I have never been froo from a violent Cough and difficulty of breathing. Year after year 1 have expectorated over a gill a day; often much more, and sometimes mixed with blood. For months together, night after night, I havo had to sit or be bolstered up to ob tain my breath. The weakness and debility cau• sed by such constant expectoration, frequently brought me to a state bordering on death. It has boon a matter of astonishment to my family and friends that lam hero to write this to you. I have had skilful physicians to attend me, and every tiling done that was thought likely to givo mo reliel;vvithout ony beneficial effect. Last tvintor I had another severe attack of Inflame. on ortho Lungs, which I fully expected would ho the lust. I then considered my case as past the aid of medicine, when I wus persuaded to call on Doctor Jayne. With the assistance of Divine Providence, through him,l was once more raised from my bed, but tho coughing and wheezing wearied me day and night. Ho advised mo to use his -Expectorant. I did so, with a strong hope that, as it had cured many of my acquaintances. of various diseases of tho Lu gs, it might at least mitigate my Ina:rings. Need I say how gratifi ed I felt? It has EFFECTUALLY CURED me. As. soon as I commenced taking it, I found it reach ed my case, and I began to breathe with more freedom. My expectoration became more easy, and my cough entirely loft mo. I now feel as well as ever I did in my life, and ant better. than I have. been.for the last lorry YEARS. Last sum. tiler I spit a great deal of blood; now, thank God, lam porfoctly cuied. Now, Sir, after suturing so long, and finding at last such signal rolioffiom Jayne's Expectorant, I fool LIIIXIOUS to inform my follow citizons where relief way be hid.
