Above we present you with a likeness of DR. MORSE the inventor of MORSE'S INDIAN ROOT TILLS. This philanthropist has spent the greater part of his life in traveling, bavin" visited Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as nan epem inree years anion" the Indians of our Western country it was in una way mat, me jn.iian Hoot Fills were first uiscovcrcd, Dr. Morse was the first man to es. Xr.J??! at aM 'lipases arise from IM- x unii i ur Jin, UUJOD that our strength. jic.ulu an. i me depended upon this vital fluid. yviien the various passages become clogged, and do not act in perfect harmony with the dif- cieut iimccions ot the body, the blood loses its action, becomes thick, corrupted, and diseased: thus causing all paius, sickness and distress of ecry namo; our strength is exhausted, our health we are deprived of, and if nature is not assisted in throwing olf the stagnant humors, the blood will become choked and cease to act, and thus our light of lifj will forever be blown out. How important then that we should keep the various passages of tho body free aad open. And how pleasant to us that we have it in our power to put a medicine in your reach namely, Morse'a Indian Itoot Pills, manufactured from plants and roots which grow around the mountainous cliffs m Nature's Garden, for the health and recovery of diseased man. One of the roots from which these Pills are made is a Sudorific;, which opens the pores of the skin, and assists Nature in throwing out the finer parts of the corruption within. The second i3 a plant which is an W. pectorant, that opens and uncloga the passage to the lungs, and thus, in a soothing manner Lr- iorms jts duty in throwing off phlegm, and other . . - .- tlllV 1 I)C1- humors from the lungs by copious spitting. The and nary or water passage, and whicli could not have been discharged in any other way. The fourth ia wuiarnc, ana accompanies the other prop ui u i ms wniie engageil in purifying the oiouu; me coarser particles of impurity which cannot pass by the other outlets, are thus taken bowda CnVeye(1 ff in reat (lUilQtitifcs by tho From the above, it is shown that Dr. Morse's Indian Root Pills not otly enter the stomach but become united with the blood, for they find' way to every part, and completely rout out and cleanse the system from all impurity, and the life of the body, which is tho blood, becomes per fectly heaithy ; consequently all sickness and pain is driven from the system, for they cannot remain when the body becomes so pure and Tim reason vhypeople are so distressed whpn sick, and why so many die, is because they do not get a medicine which will pass to the afflic ted parts, and which will open the natural pas sage f.r the disease to be cast out; hence a large quantity of food and other matter is lodg ed, and the stomach and intestines are literal fy overflowing with tho corrupted mass ; thus un dergo a disagreeable fenuentati ou, constantly mixmg with the blood, which throws the cot rupted matter through every vein and artery, until life :s taken from the bjdy by disease. Dr. Morse's PILLS have added to themselves victor upon victory, by restoring millions of the sick to blooming health and happiness. Yes, thousands who hive been racked or tormented with sick ness, pain and anguish, and whose feeble frames . v- v,.i viuie.; uy me ourning ele.nents of '"os iuvt-r, ami who nave been brought as it were within a step of tho s.lcnt grave', now stand ready to testify that they would have been numbered with tho dead, had it not been for this great and wou.Ierful medicine, Morse's In. dian Uoot Pills. After one or t'wo dS had been taken, tney were astonished, and absolutely surprised, m witnessing their charming efiects. Not only uo they give immediate ease and strength, and take away all sickness, pain and anguish,- but they af, once go to work at the foundation of the disease, which is tho blood Iheafore it will bo shown, especially by those who use these PiUs, that they vvill cleanse and purify, that disease that deadly enemy will take its flight, and thrush of youth and beautv wil. again return and the prospect of a long and C7-tKld by Ihomas Devine, Eben sburg, and by Mchune Dealers generally throughout the County ; B. CARR & CO. Iebruary 17, l858.tf Scrofula, or King's Evil, is a cortftiturional disease, a corruption of the blood, by which this fluid becomes vitiated, weak, and poor. Being in the circulation, it pervades the whole bodv, and may burst out in disease oa any part of it. Xo cr?an is free from its attacks, nor is there one which it may not destroy. The scrofulous taint is variously caused by mercurial disease, low living, dis ordered or unhealthy food, impure air, tilth and filthy habits, the depressing vices, and, above all, by the venereal infection. What ever be its origin, it is hereditary in the con stitu yn, descending from parents to cliildren unt ,the third and fourth generation ;" indeed, it t tas to be the ixxl of Him who savs, I wily visit the iniquities of the fathers' vpou their children." , lta effects commence by.deposition from tha blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lungs, liver, and internal oreaiis, is termed tubercles; in the glands, swellings; and on the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul cor ruption, which genders in the blood, depresses the energies of life, so that scrofulous constitu tions not only suffer from scrofulous com plaints, but they have far less power to with stand the attacks of other diseases; conse quently, vast numbers perish bv disorders which, although not scrofulous in their nature are still rendered fatal by this taint in the system. Most of the consumption which de cimates the human family has its origin directly in this scrofulous contamination; and many destructive diseases of the liver, kidneys, brain, and, indeed, of all the organs, arise "from or are aggravated by the same cause. One quarter of all our people are scrofulous ; their persons are invaded by tliis lurking in fection, and their health is undermined by it. To cleanse it from the system w e must renovate the blood by an alterative medicine, and in vigorate it by healthy food and exercise. Such a medicine we supply in AVER'S Compoimd Extract of Saisaparilla, the most effectual remedy which the medical skill of our times can devise for this every where prevailing and fatal maladv. It w com bined, from the most active remedials that have been discovered for the expurgation of this foul disorder from the blood, and the rescue of the evstem from its destructive consequences. Hence it should be employed for the cure cf not oidy scrofula, but also those other affec . tions which arise from it, such as EsrmvB and km Diseases, Sr. Ax-mow's Fire. Kose, or Erysipelas, Pixpi.es, Pistut.es, Blotches, Blaixs and Boils, Tcmors, Tetteu and Salt RiiErv, Scald Head, Rixoworv, KHETJMATI8M, SYPHILITIC and MeHCCRIAL DlS- xases, Dbopst, Dyspepsia, Debility, and, indeed, all Complaints arisixo ebosi Vitia ted oa Impure Blood. The popular belief in " impurity of the blood " is founded in truth, for scrofula is a degeneration of the blood. The particular purpose and virtue of this Sarsapa rilla is to purify and regenerate this vital fluid without which sound health is impossible ia contaminated constitutions. Ayer s Cathartic Pills, FOR ALL THE PURPOSES CF A FAMILY PHYS!C, are go composed that disease within the range of their action can rarely withstand or evade them I heir penetrating properties search, and cleanse, and invigorate every portion of the human ornn lsm, correcUnir its iiseased action, and restoring its healthy vitalities. As a consequence of these properties, the invalid who is bowed down with rain or physical debility is astonished to find his health or energy restored by a remedy at once so simple and inviting. Isot only do they cure the cvery-day complainta cf every body, but also many formidable and dangerous diseases. The agent below named is pleased to furnish gratis my American Almanac, containing certificates of their cures and direction for their use in the following complaints : Costire ness. Heartburn, Headache arising from disordered Stomach, Nausea, Indigestion, Pam in and Morbid Inaction of the Bowels, J-'latulenry, Loss of Appe tite, Jaundice, and other kindred complaints, nsing from a low state of the body or obstruction, of its functions. Ayers Cherry Pectoral, TOR THE RAPID CCRB OT Coughs, Colds, Influenza, Hoarseness, Croup, Bronchitis, Incipient Consump tion, and for the relief of Consumptive Patients in advanced stages of the disease s So wide is the field cf its usefulness and so nu merous are the cases of its cures, that almost every section of country abounds in persons pub licly known, who have Letn restored from alarming and even desperate diseases of the lungs by its nse. When once tried, its superiority over every other medicine of its kind is too apparent to escare observation, and where its virtues are known, the public no longer hesitate what antidote to employ for the distressing and dangeious atfections cf the pulmonary organs that are incident to our climate. Vhile many inferior remedies thrust upon the community have failed and been discarded, this has gained friends by every trial, conferred benefits on the afflicted they can never forget, and pro duced cures too numerous and too remarkable to be forgotten.
