Vi it 1 Arrival of the Pacific. New York, June 11. The American steamship Pacific, with Liver pool dates to the 31st ult., being three days later than the previous advices, arrived here a lew mi nutes before 9 o'clock this evening. The Royal Mail steamship Africa arrived out on Sunday, carrying out articles contraband of war. TILE WAR NEWS. It is reported that the town of Kafla had been bombarded by the allied fleets and captured. Tho Turks are still in possession of Silistria. The Russians made a desperate attack upon the place, but were repulsed with a severe loss. Naples has oflicially declared her neutrality. The detached forts as llangoe were destroyed by three steam frigates. The Russians lost hea vily. The British had three killed. It was reported that on the 2Gth ult., the fort ress of Silistria had not surrendered. A large number of Turks were encamped near Arta in Greece. Thessaly was still in open revolution. Ou the 10th ten frigates cannonaded Witts land, and on the 20th approached Ekenas, but . were repulsed. A portion of the allied fleet bombarded Gusta osvarn on the 22d. Another attack was expected on the 24th. The fiench fleet was to leave Keal for three days gunnery practice. A very hostile feeling is being felt at St. Peters burgh for the course pursued by Austria. It is rumored that the march of the Russians upon the frontiers of liukovino had commenced. The corps 'de Arme is said will number 150, 000 men. Montenegro is tranquil. It is reported that 30,000 Turks were in pos session of Krajova on the 17th. Odessa at the last advices, was closely blockad ed by the allied fleets. No neutral vessels were allowed to pass from that port into the Black fcea, except those loaden with coal and naval stores. On the 23d Admiral Napier was before llangoe and was about to attack the principal forts. A later despatch received in London saj-s that he Lad attacked the forts with signal success. The accounts from Silistria are vague and con flicting. One account states that the Russians had stormed one of its ramparts, and another ac count announces the complete investment of the place by the Russians. The British frigate Retribution had captured several prizes from the Russians on the Black Sea. The cause of the bombardment of Katl'a, was on account of the refusal of the authorities to de liver over to the allies several Russian vessels in the harbor. The bombardment lasted for tvo days, and an immense amount of property was destroyed. The Greeks got one hundred and fifty Turkish soldiers in a church, closed the doors and burned them up alive. Important fuom Japan. The English pa pers contain the important announcement under date of Shanghai, April 12, that Commodore 1'erry has succeeded in the object of his visit to Jeddo, and that similar advantages have been obtained for the commerce of this country that bad previously been conceded to Russia. The same condition is contained in both treaties namely, that three ports are to he opened in a year. There is no reason to question the truth fit this statement, as in our last correspondence from Shanghai, under date of March 27th, it was mentioned that Commodore Terry's arrival from Jeddo was hourly expected. The field which the success of this important negotiation lays open to our commerce is immense. C7"Daxgeuocs CorxTEKFEvr. Our friend, W. Lee White.
