THE Commissioners ofCumberland County
will receive gproposals • at their offlee in
Carlisle, until MONDAY, 20th day 'of
June; 1863, for the building of a

across the Yellow liteechea Creek—at a point
fixed by viewers below Ego's Melt, by their
variation from the public road leading from
Bricker 's Mill to Carlisle's the bridge to be of
the following dimensions, viz. To contain in
length 124 feet from one abutment to the•other„
the abutments to be Wilt upon n solid foundation
.which ere to be approved of by the Commis
sioners; the heighth of abutments to be two feet
above low water mark; at which point the heel
of the•arches start. The bridge to have three
arches; the centre arch to be forty foot span,•
and the other two thirty fciur'ft spans each. rho
centre 'arch to -rise -twelve feet and the other
two arches to riser ten feet. There will be two
piers in the Creek eight foot thick and twenty
five foot long, each. The piers to by carried
up:five foot, at which heighth the eutwatei• is
to commence, battering and losing itself in the
well et eleven feet. The abutment to be ten ft
thick, the wing walls adjoining the abutments
to be not less than five ft thick, and three ft
hick at the extreme ends, to - finish_ twoft thick
et the grades; and to - be carried thrge ft-above
the grade with utwenty into wall from the grade
properly coped, as hereinafter described. The
extension of wing Wall on the soulii end of the
bridge will be twenty ft from the abutment, and
the extension on the north end of bridge will
be twelve It Irons abutment. The grade of the
bridge' not to exceed three degrees from the
centre. of the centre pier, to where the same,
strikes the road on either side. The breadth of
the bridge to he 16 ft between the parapet walls
in Jilt) clear. The entire work to be built of good
Limestone and mortar. The mortar to be
made of good sharp sand and lime of the fol
lowing proportions, viz: six bushels of lime to
one cart load of sand. The arches to be built
of good flat stone, well bound all through the
arches. The joints well broke. and to be 2 toot
thick in depth. Ring stoves to brake band and
be•elosely cat end laid, and not less than six
inches thick. The parapet Walls to rise three
feet above the grade, the entire length of the
bridge when finishedA The walls to be coped
with stone copeing not less than three feet long
and -four-inches-thick: to be closely join ted,
joints not to exceed half an inch; the copeing
to project over the Walls on both sides.
If the' Commissioners should determine to
dispense with the steno copeing, the following
will be adopted. . The walls shall be roofed
with the best river shingles,put on six inches
to the weTallieThe rafters - 6 - t be of suellisize
with° CommissiOners may determine.not to ex..
coed six inches The i afters, to be built in the
wall, three feet apart, and morticed or dove
tailed down on scantling. Face boards on the
inside to show six label!, on the outside five in

of John Williamson, of Charlestown, S. C.,
deceased, for the estate in Pennsylvania of the

account of said estate, in which it is set forth,
