The patient, gentle teacher persisted in

The anecdote illustrates how difficult it '
is for children who have been nsed to a noi- 1

teacher whose commands fall as gently as

by a gentle, forbearing master.

A Little Trick In It.
It isn't any harder for a woman with a
bustle on to sit down tluin it is for a man |
with a pint lla-k of cholera mixture in hi- f
coat tail pocke- to do it. All lie's got to do
is to be ii little carei'ul, of course, and thai s ,
all a woman with a bustle on has got to do. ,
The secret of it is this: When a bustle deck .
ed woman its down, she does so sidewise.
There is a pre iv lis lie trick in it. She pre
tends she is g. to sit oil the right side of
the chair au-i inaki her lirst move in that
direction, but jiist as she reaches the chair
she moves gracefully to the other side, the
bustle rolls to the right, entirely out of the
way of the sitter, and the problem is solved.
So ;H least we !ir<* told.

The tank suddenly burst, giving way at the
