the 16th June. The Orescent Utty brought about
$5186,000 in gold in the hands of the passengers,
and the Ohio $18,000 and the'U. S. Mails. On
the i4th of June there was another terrific fire at
San.-Francisco. The fife originated in the rear
of'Sacramento House, and spread with great ra
pidity over a great portion of the town; Nothing
could for a time resist the flames. Finally, how
ever, by the most vigorous exertions, a stop was
put to its ravages, but not however untill property,
to the amount of five millions of dollars was de
stroyed. The news from the mines is not of a ve
ry satisfactory character. The streams were gen
erally too high to allow of digging to advantage.
