TIic Wliiff liCilsiaiurc. Tho Legislature adjourned on Tuesday last fll 12 o'clock, and the members have nearly all departed for " home, sweet home." It was, as J observed in Monday's paper, a shaft, ceo comical, WORKING SESSION and rested in a saving lo the State of not leu than TWEN TY THOUSAND DOLLARS-a matter of some importance to the poor ana inuu.ina. classes of Pennsylvania who for years have been suffering fftm the extravagance and mal administration of Federal Locofocoism, and who are now burdened with onerous and unjust LOCOFOCO TAXATION. , The Whig Le gislature, during its short session of seventy one days, transacted more important business than any of the lengthy, corrupt, and extravagant Locofoco Legislatures which have assembled hero for years. We have shown the People what Whig Legislation and Whig economy can do. Give us a Whig administration, and we predict that Pennsylvania will soon be raised from her present prostrate condition, and dera ted to a more lofty position among the Common wealths of the Nation, than she has ever yet occupied. All honor is duo to the Whig for the ability and faithfulness with which they discharged their duty to their constituents, and their indefatigable exertions to promote the in terests and prosperity of the Commonwealth. -Notwithstanding the frequent disgraceful and undignified attempts of the Locofoco minority . i r i .- i :r to retard me progress ot ousmess aiw, u jju&oi hle, lengthen the session, the Whigs indignant ly frowned down all such proceedings, and moved forward in the discharge of their duties with a determination to despatch the business inas short a time, and with as little expense to the people as possible. The WHIG LEGISLATURE of 1847, was in session only SEVENTY-ONE DAYS, and submitted four hundred and fifty-nine bills and resolutions to the Governor I The Locofoco session last year lated ONE HUNDRED .and SIX DAYS, and but four hundred and ixty-one bills and resolutions were passed ! Tho Whig Legislature transacted as much bus iness as the last Locofoco Legislature, and ad journed about thirty-six days sooner ; thus sa ving to the State not less than TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS! Such ate the good results flowing from Whig legislation and Whig economy ; and if the tax-oppressed peo ple of the Stale know their own interests, they will not only return the noble band of Whigs who so nobly discharged their duty during the recent session, but elect a Whig Governor, and abjure Locofocoism now and forever. Give us n Whig administration that will faithfully carrv out Whig principles, and the restoration of our beloved Commonwealth to her former prosper ity will speedily follow, Har. Intelligencer. SORE THROAT, Coughs,Consumptions,Pains in the various parts of the body, and other un pleasant symptoms, are the usual effects of catch ing cold. WrighCs Indian Vegetable Pills are a delightful medicine for carrying off a cold, because they purge from the body all morbid and corrupt humors iu so easy and natural a manner, that the body is re lieved of every kind of suffering as if by magic. January 18, 1817, It is Written In the Book of Mature and Common Sense, that the natural Vegetable 'production's of every, country are i improperly applied, are' amply sufficient for the cure 6f every malady incident to eacii peculiar climate. , Wright's Indian Vegetable Pills, of the Nqrth American College of Health, are com posed of plants which grow spontaneously on: our own soil, and are therefore-better adapted to our constitutions than medicines concocted from for eign Drugs, however well they may be compound ed; and as they are founded upon the principle that the human body is in truth Subject to but One Disease",- viz : corrupt humors, and that said medicine cures this disease on t Natural Principles by olcansing and purifying the body; it will be man ifest, that if the constitution be not entirely ex hausteda perseverance in their use, according to directions, is absolutely certain to drive disease of every name from the body". When we wish to restore a swamp or morass to fertility, we drain it of the superabundant waters; iu like manner if we wish to restore the body to heaUh, we must cleanse it of impurity. Wright's Indian Vegetable Pills will be found one of the beat, if not the very best medicine in the world for carrying out this Gh'and Purifying Principle, because they expel from the body all morbid and corrupt humors, the cause of disease, in an easy and natural manner; and while they every day Give Ease and Pleasure, disease of every name is rapidly driven from the body.
