The Johnson re-acting wheel is the best now in use to propel a saw mill; it excels. atiy oilier wheel in tho United States under a low water head; under a head from 5 to 7 feet is suffi cient to cut from 2 to 3000 feet in twelve hours of inch or any other boards wilh ease. Tho wheels require, under a 7 fool head, 140 inches of water and so in proportion to any other head. Under a 7 foot head, the Saw will make from 200 to 250 strokes per minute. The advan tage which those wheels have over any other wheels is, that it requires but four posis to make the lloom or bulk headnhe wheels are hung oi the crank shaft.
