U.MUJJULf-lJ! JEFFERSONIAN REPUBLICAN. A War BallcoBi. Amongst the immense number of patents -'taken out in. France during the last six months, for inventions, not one in a hundred of which will probably repay even the cost of the patent, is one for a war-balloon, which according to the inventor, a Mr. Gire, of Nismes.is to be navigable" bV'mearis of compressed air acting against the natural atmosphere, by which it is surrounded. The inventor states that a person sealed in the car of the bal loon would be able, when suspended over an enemy's town, camp, or for tress, at such a height as to be him self inaccessable to attack, to pour balls, shells, and other piojectiles, and ensure the destruction of every thing beneath him. This is perhaps one of lhewildest schemes in the whole history of inventions. A Washington lener writer mentions the ru mor that President Tyler is about to "annex" unto himself a wife. circular!
