The reputation of Dr. Leidy's Sarsaparilla Blood Pills is so well known, that comment upon their virtues is almost unnecessary. Suf fice it to say thoy possess all the PURGATIVE AND PURIFYING properties that can bo combined in the form of Pill. NEWSPAPER PUFFING is unnecessary to their success. Their efficacy, in one case, is a sur intro duction and passport of them to a .thousand. FIVE YEARS Employment of thera throughout the United Stales, have made them as they deserve to be VICTORIOUS! Whilst the Proprietors and Manufacturers of other Pills, hare been endeavoring to humbug the people in various ways to introduce their Pills, publishing columns of matter and bol stering them up by MADE, FALSE, LYING CERTIFICATES, and attributing to their Pills the powers of ef fecting every thing, barely excepting the RKSTORATIO.V OF THE DEAD TO LIFE. Dr. LEIDY has allowed his Blood Pills to become known bv their effects: thus establish ing them a character thai can never be taken from them, and which is proof incontrovertible of their qualities. Most other Pills have gone out of use since their introduction; many have fallen into dis repute, and some are now aliogeihor unknown; si ill a few hangers-on endeavor to gull ihc ig norant by plausible (ihough false) reasoning of the extraordinary powers their Pills possess; but the public are fully sensible of such impo shion. Proved in more than 400,000 cases to be infal lible; the only certain worm-destroying medi cine ever discovered. Many diseases arise from worms and occasion long and intense suff ering and even death, without their ever being suspected; grown persons are very often afflict ed with them and arc doctored for various com plaints, without any benefit; when one doso of these Lozenges would speedily cure them. Mr. J. Murphy, 90 North st. Philadelphia, was applied to by a poor woman whose daugh ter, 7 years old, had been sick for nearly 3 years; her stomach was as large as a grown person's, her arms and legs so swollen that she could not walk or help herself, although she could eat as much as two laboring men. Two celebrated doctors had exhausted their skill without any benefit; the father had spent all he could raise and was discouraged, he abandon ed all idea of doing anything more for her, and looked to death alone, to take her out of her misery. Mr. Murphy believing it a case of worms, gave her a box of Sherman's Lozenges, and in t wo days she returned with joy beaming in her eyes, and said the Lozenges had saved her child's life. The first dose brought away nearly a pint of worms in one living mass, she afterwards counted over 800 that were discharg ed, besides the mass which she could not count. The child was literally eaten up with them anoiher living witness of the almost mir aculous efficacy of Sherman's Lozenges. In order to become a member of this company and thereby be insured, the applicant gives a pre mium note, the amount of which is in proportion to the amount to be insured, and its degree of hazard, thus: If $1000 is to be insured, at 5 per cent., he gives his note for $50. If at 10 per cent, he gives his note for $100, and in that proportion for a greater or less sum, according to the rate of hazard, on which note he advances 6 per cent, and an additional sum of Si 50 for survey and policy. He then becomes a member on tho approval of his application and is insured for five years. 1 he acrereirate of the premium notes constitutes the cash fund, charcable first, with the expenses, and second, with the losses of the Company; and should it prove insufficient to pay both losses and expenses the money to meet the losses, (should any occur) is borrowed agreeably to the act of in corporation, and paid. An assessment is then made to repay such loan upon the premium notes, in proportion to their respective amounts, and in no case to be made but once a year, notwithstanding several losses may happen. At the expiration ot live years tne note, it any assessments have been made and paid, is given up. and the insured may renew his application. Policies may at any time be assigned or sur rendered and cancelled, and the premium notes given up. according to the by-laws of the Com pany. No more than three fourths of the cash value of any property will be insured, and all great hazards: such as Cotton Factories, Powder Mills, Distilleries, Machine bhops, ivianuiaciones for Printer's Ink, and all establishments ol the same class of hazards, are not insured upon any conditions whatever, and that no one risk is taken over $5000, it is considered much more safe and less expensive than in Stock companies, where they insure larcc amounts and hazardous property. W. DeWfTT & BROTHER Milton!, rabrusry '2, 1812. Wright's Isidiasj Vegetable Fills Of the North American College of Health. This extraordinary medicine is founded upon the principle that the human frame is subject to ONLY ONE DISEASE, viz: Corrupt Humors, or in other words Impurity of tho Ulood, and noth ing save vegetable cleansing, is wanted in order to drive disease of every description from the bo dy. If the channels of our mighty rivers should bo come choked up, would not the accumulated wa ters find new outlets, or the country be inundated! Just so with the human body; if the natural drains become closed, the accumulated impurities will most assuredly find vent in some form of disease, or death will be a certain consequence. WRIGHTS INDIAN V EG ETA BLE VILLS are eminently calculated for carrying out this GRAND PURIFYING PRINCIPLE, because they arc a purgative medicine so justly balanced and withal so natural to the human constitution, that they cannot possibly injure the most delicate; at the same time, if used in such a manner as to produce free evacuations by the bowels, and re peated a few times, it will be absolutely impossi ble for pain or distress of any kind to continue in the body. A single twenty-five cent box of the above named Indian Vegetablo Pills will, in all cases, give relief, sometimes even beyond the power of words to describe, and if persevered in for a short time, there is not a malady in the whole course of human ills that can possibly with stand their astonishing and wonderful influence. WRIGHT'S INDIAN VEGETABLE PILLS aro a certain cure for COSTIVENESS, Because they completely cleanse the stomach and bowels from those bilhous and corrupt humours which paralyse and weaken the digestive organs, and are the cause of headache, nausea, and sick ness, palpitation of the heart, rheumatic pains in various parts of tho body, and many other- unplea sant symptoms. In all disordered motions of the Blood, called Intermittent, Remittent, Nervous; Inflammatory, and Putrid FEVERS, Wright's Indian Vegetable Pills will be found a certain remedy; because they cleanse the stom ach and bowels from all bilious humours and pu rify the blood; consequently, as they remove eve- .. . ... i 1 T.. .!fl rv kind ol disease, tney are aosmuieiy tciwiu m J J cure every kind of fever. So, also, when morbid humours aro deposited upon the membrane and muscle, causing those pains, inflammations and swellings, called RHEUMATISM, GOUT, &c, Wright's Indian Vegetable Pills may bo relied on as alwavs certain to nive relief, and if persevered with, will most assuredly, and witnout fail, make a perfect cure of the above painful maladies. From three to six of said Indian Vegetable Pills taken every night on going lo bed, will, in a short time, completely rid the body from all morbid and corrupt humours; and rheumatism, gout, and pain of every description, will despair, as if by magic. For the same reason, when, from sudden changes of the atmosphere, or any other cause, the perspiration is checked, and those humours which should pass off by the skin, are thrown in wardly, causing headache, nausea, and sickness, pain in the bones, watery and inflamed eyes, sore throat, hoarseness, coughs, consumption, rheu matic pains in various parts of the body, and ma ny other symptoms of CATCHING COLD, Wright's Indian Vegetable Pills will invariably give immediate relief. Three or four pills taken at night on going to bed, and repeated a few times will remove all the above unpleasant symptoms, and restore the body to even sounder hca!th than before. Tho same may be said of difficulty of breathing, or ASTHMA. Wright's Indian Vegetable Pills will loosen and carry off by the stomach and bowels those rough and phlegmy humours which stop the air celb of the lungs, and are tho cause of the above dreadful complaint. It should also be remembered that WRIGHTS INDIAN VEGETABLE PILLS are certain to remove pain in tho side, oppression, nausea and sickness, loss of appetite, costiveness, a yellow tingo of the skin and eyes, and every other symp tom of LIVER COMPLAINT. Because they purge from the body those corrupt and stagnant humours, which when deposited on the liver, arc the cause of tho above dangerous complaint They aro also to prevent APOPLEXY AND SUDDEN DEATH, j Because they carry off thoso humors which ob structing the circulation, are the csuse of a rush, or determination of blood to the head; giddiness, especially on turning suddenly round, blindness, drowsiness, loss of memory, inflamation of the brain, insanity, and all disorders of the mind. ' Those who labour within doors should remem ber that they frequently breathe an atmosphere which is wholly unfit for the proper expansion of the lungs, and at tho same time owing to want of exercise, the bowels are not sufficiently evacua ted, the blood becomes impure, and headache, in digestion, palpitation of the heart, and many other disagreeable symptoms are sure to follow WRIGHT'S INDIAN VEGETABLE PILLS Beinga Cleanser of tho stomach and bov.Cis, an a DIRECT PURIFIER of the Blond, are ter-J. , not only to remove pain or distress of every , from the body, but if used occasionally, so es m keep the body free from those humours which rua the CAUSE OF EVERY MALADY IN'Ci. The Johnson re-acting wheel is the best now in use to propel a saw mill; it excels any other wheel in the Unhed States under a low water head; under a head from 5 to 7 feel i3 suffi cient to cut from 2 to 3000 feet in twelre hour of inch or any other boards with ease. The wheels require, under a 7 fool head, 140 inches of water and so in proportion to any other head. Under a 7 foot head, the Saw will make from 200 to 250 strokes per minute. The advan tage which those wheels have over any other wheels is, that it requires but four posts to maU the flooni or bulk head; the wheels are hung on the crank shaft. Two wheels are what is re quired for a Saw mill, and the posts planked in side the same as a pen stock. 1 have built one of those mills this season, on the Roaring Brook, in Luzerne county, for Mr. S. P. Tem plin, under about a 7 foot head, which will cut from 3 to 4000 in twelve hours of inch boards; therefore, 1 can recommend them as the ben wheels now in operation. There are several more mills in that part, all under low head?, which answers the same purpose as that of Mr. Tcmplins. For further information, please call on the subscriber. FERDINAND DUTOT. Agent.
