Thi Philadelphia Timet of the 14th inst. says : A meeting of officers and employees of the several railroad companies centering in Philadelphia was held on Monday evening last at the office of the Pennsylvania Rail road, West Philadelphia, to organize the " Railroad Employees' Provident Association," a mutual company for insuring the lives of railroad, em ployees at reduced rates, its territory extending for the present over the New England and Middle States. This association is incorporated un der the laws of the State, and until fully under way and in a prosperous condition will only take risks on the lives of officers, cleiks and employees not occupied in hazardous duties. In course of time tbe bean partly decayed and became so loose that It was restored with a piece of wire on last Thursday almost a year after it bad lodged in tbe ear of tbe child.
