At Brown's Mills there is an eld graveyard, probably one of tbe oldest in tbe esstern end of the county. As I waa playing Milton among the tombs, I noticed one stone dated as far back as 1800, and no doubt there are some of a mush earlier date. Some of the first settlers of Lost Creek Valley are bnried there. As many of the de scendants of those bnried in this grave yard are still living in our vicinity, and are men of high standing and of means, I ask, why should this saored place be loft in its present dilspidated condition ! There are but few of tbe head stones standing, tbe fence ia broken down, cat tle and swine have free access to it, and briers and thorns take the place of or namental trees and flowering shrubs.
