The number of words in tbe language at about one hundred and ten thousand aud said tbe noons, pronouns, verbs and adverbs were the principal words in tbe language and gave the numbers of each. He spoke of school manage ment and said, there are more failures on aceount of inability to govern than from all other causes combined, was in favor of comfortable schoolrooms and adornments of walls, cleanliness of pupils snd rooms. Said a teacher should be kept io the same school as Jong as possible, was opposed to chan ging teachers unless for good cause. He dwelt largely upon the. uecessity for ventilation. Mr. W. I. Hibbs spoke of the ne cessity of study outside of school hours. Dr. Shumaker was empbatical ly in favor of pupils studying at least two boars outside tbe scboolrosm.
