Lancartir, Pa., Nov. 1. Charles
Boughter, the defaulting Treasurer of the
Lancaster Savings Institution, was re
leased from prisou to-day, on bail to the
amount of $100,000, to answer at the next
term of the Conrt of Quarter Sessions.
The Cinoionati Baby Show proved to
be an entire failure. Rarnurn has brought
suit for libel against the Commercial for
maliciously assailing the "enterprise," and
defaming his character. It will bo an in
teresting suit.
An article in the Dublin University
Magazine states that the present war with
Russia costs 1'ugland and her allies a
quarter of a million sterling per day !
