On Tuesday evening, a Welshman, named William Thomas, cut his throat, in his own house, in Northumberland street, in this boro', with a raxor, so that death ensued in a short time. The deceased was a blacksmith by trade, and a good citizen. Family troubles is assigned as the cause for the rash deed, lie leaves a wife and four children. THERE was an individual who reported publicly at the delegate election in White Ueer on Saturday last, that I bad crossed the River, within a Tew months or a year, at the Ferry between New Columbia and the Milton Bridge, and that I refused to pay the woman the price of the ferriage. I have no recollec tion of ever crossing the river at that place, and would pronounce the author of the report a scoundrel and a liar. My principal object in noticing the circumstance, is to sustain my friends who repelled the slander. J. U. i;itA.VlUt.KLI.. Buffalo X Roads, Aug. 9, 1853 DAGUERREOTYPES !
