' ' . • Scrofhla, or King's Evil, is a constitutional disease, a corrup_ion of the blood, by which this thud becomes vitiated, weak, sad poor. Being m the circulation, it pervades the whole body, and may bunt out to disease on any part of it. No organ is free from its attacki, nor is there one which it may not destroy. The scrofulous taint is variously caused by mercurial disease, low living, dis ordered or unhealthy food, impure car, tilth and filthy halutt, the cleoresring vices, and, above all, Ly the venereal infection. 'What ever be its origin, it is hereditary in the con stitution, fiev..c:lti , n,7 from F arm s to children unto the th.rd and fourth generation ;'. indeed. it seems to be the rod of Him who says, I will visit the iniquities of the fathers upon their ch.ldren." Its effects commence by depoeitioc, from the blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lungs, liver, and internal organs, is termed tubercles; in the glands, swellings; and on the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul cor ruption, %Inch itenders in the blood, depresses the energies of hfe, so that scrofulous constitu tions nut only suffer from scrofulous com plaints, but they have far less power to with stand the attacks of other diseases;conse quently, vast numbers perish by disorders which. although not it.:rufulous in their nature. are still rendered fatal by this taint in the system. Most of the consumption which de eunates the human family has its origin directly in this scrofulous contamination ; and many destructive diseases of the liver, kidneys, brain. and, indeed, of all the organ, arise from or are acrravated by the same cause. l One quarter of all our people art/scrofulous; their persons arc invaded by this lurking in. fiction, and their health is undermined by it. To eleanse it from the system we must renovate the blond by an alterative medicine, and in. Acorate it by healthy food and exercise. Such a medicine we supply in AYE,It'S Compound Extract of Sarsaparilla, the most effectual remedy which the medical skill of our times can devise for this every where prevailing and fatal malady. It Is com bined from tho most active remedies/that have basin discovered for the expurgation this foul disorder from the blood, and the rescue of the system from its destructive consequences. gene* it should be employed for the cure of not - nedv scrofula, but also those other affec tions which arise from it, such as F.acrnva and Sam Dissmiss, Sr. ANTHONY'S FIRS, ROSE, or ERTSIPYL PLItTVLSS, BLOTCH'S, lirAixs and Boit., Tenons, TETTER. and SALT RHPLM, SctLD riTAD, RINOWORX, BSISIIHATLSX, SYPHILITIC and naccurst Do - asass, DROP4T.
