Cedarbrook 320 E. BEAVER AVE. Cedarbrook's parties and central location are both an advantage and a burden for tenants. The noise on the weekends from drunken students is a problem, but the building's location in the heart of downtown makes the noise worth it. "It's always really noisy," Nandish Pathak (sophomore mechanical engineering) said. Rebecca Dick (senior-architecture engineering) agreed with Pathak that weekends are the'worst for noise. But Pathak said the noise is the only downside to living in the build ing. He said he prefers living there to the dorms, and said having his own bathroom is worth paying for, especially for a germaphobe like him. Beaver Hill 340 E. BEAVER AVE. Beaver Hill Apartments, offers a central location at a fair price, students said The only complaint resident Emily Heinemann had was that her apartment was by the elevator and stairwell, so she can "hear everyone's personal business." Resident Sean Connell said noise can become a problem but is dealt with swiftly by the property manager, A.W. & Sons. Connell said the property manager has strict rules about parties, and students mak ing a lot of noise will get written up. The Meridian 646 E. COLLEGE AVE. Students agreed that though The Meridian isn't all that close to campus, they don't mind the walk. A bus stop is also directly outside the building. 'The rooms are really nice, and they just redid them all for this year," resident Sean Hickey said. Hickey (junior-mechanical engineering) lives in Meridian Building 111, and said, on the other hand, the stairwells smell bad and can get extremely dirty. Anna Sartori, a resident in Meridian 11, said the elevators break all the time, but said the maintenance people are quick in get ting things fixed. Sartori (senior-international media studies) and Hickey both agreed that the rooms are essentially sound-proof - they've never have a problem with noise. Dick said she loves that Cedarbrook is always really clean, unlike other apart ment buildings.
