Expires 7/12/2010 Group to perform Broadway show By Anita Modi COLLEGIAN STAFF WRITER In addition to the dance and musical per formances featured throughout the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, visitors have the opportunity to get a taste of local theatrical performances at the State Theatre, 130 W College Ave. Singing Onstage, a State College musical theatre training and performance studio established in 2002, will perform “[title of show]” at 8:30 p.m. Thursday through Friday. An additional performance will show at 11 p.m. on Friday, specifically intended for Penn State students, Singing Onstage Director Richard Biever said. The production will feature four Penn State Music Theatre students and a total of 10 props used to tell an edgy, non-traditional stoiy, Biever said. The seemingly pretentious title, “[title of show],” does justice to the show’s central plot line. Hunter and Jeff, two men previous ly unknown to the Broadway scene, decide to write their own musical starring themselves and another two of their friends, Susan and Heidi. Yet, its contemporary dialogue and timeless themes ensure that college-age students find it exciting and relevant, Biever said.
