Greek Sing showcases talent, music Sunday The annual Greek Sing event sponsored by the Panhellenic Council 'will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday in Eisenhower Auditorium. The event will feature a showcase of Broadway performances high lighting this year's theme, "Rolling Out the Red Carpet: From Rags to Riches." During Greek Sing, a student that has excelled in the areas of acade mics, involvement in the greek community and involvement in the uni versity community will be named recipient of the Gayle Beyers Schol- arship. The scholarship, which is named for Gayle Beyers Webb, a former adviser for the Interfraternity Council, PHC and National Pan-Hellenic Council, is made up of the profits Greek Sing produces from the event, said Stephen Rupprecht, assistant director of greek and community life. During the event, 20 sororities from PHC paired with twenty frater nities from IFC will perform eight-minute presentations, including one or two songs and a speaking part from a Broadway play of their choice. Some of the performances will include scenes from Fiddler on the Roof, Jesus Christ Superstar and Cinderella, Rupprecht said. "It (Greek Sing) is a celebration of greek talent," said Rupprecht. Tickets will be available tomorrow at the HUB/Paul Robeson Cultur al Center. They also can be purchased at the Eisenhower ticket office during the weekend and prior to the event. The cost of the tickets is $7. Hacker tampers with weather Web site Sometime between 9:30 and 11 p.m. Wednesday, an unknown person changed the weather forecast on the Campus Weather Service's Web site (www.meteo.psu.edu/cws/), according to CWS Vice President Matt Cerrato. Yesterday and today's weather forecasts were replaced with inap propriate sexual innuendoes. The Web site was last updated at 10:54 p.m. Wednesday. The only computer with access to editing the Web site is centrally located inside the weather station, Cerrato said. For security purposes, CWS has discussed installing a card access system to the room with the Department of Meteorology, said CWS President Michael Kidonakis. CWS is not sure of what happened, but an internal investigation is under way and disciplinary action will be taken when the person responsible is found, Cerrato said. "We are continuing to investigate," Kidonakis said. "If and when we find the person who is responsible, we intend to turn the person over to 'university security."
