Bugs, boats and Brad movies to unreel By Chris Krewson Collegian Arts Writer The bangs, thuds and duds of the summer movies may be over, but with Labor Day weekend just around the corner, a new batch of fall movies are on their way. And with a Tarantino flick, an Oliver Stone film and the mega-budget Titanic, the fall movie season looks to please the critics armchair or otherwise. Here's a partial list of the movies being released this fall. The season gets started with L.A. Confidential, coming Sept. 19. The Peacemaker, a Dream Works SKG production to be released Sept. 26, stars George Clooney and Nicole Kidman. Expectations are high for this story about the U.S. Army and the White House work- ing together to disarm a Middle Eastern terrorist with a nuclear weapon. Michael Douglas and Sean Penn headline The Game, starting Sept. 12. Billionaire Douglas gets the gift that won't stop giving . . . a realistic role-playing game that specializes in blurring fact and fic tion. Seven Years in Tibet brings heartthrob Brad Pitt back, on Oct. 8 as an Austrian mountaineer who meets the Dalai Lama and becomes enlightened. Oct. 3 features the release of U- Turn, featuring Sean Penn, Nick Nolte, Claire Danes and Jennifer Lopez. U-Turn is Oliver Stone's first nonpolitical, non-epic flick in a long time, and tells the story of a drifter (Penn) who enters an Ari zona town looking for a good time, but can't find one.
