EAST HALLS GYM (351) East Halls Gym seeks to promote physical fitness through weight training, and provides a lifting environment favorable to its members. EQUESTRIAN TEAM (071) develops skills in horsemanship and engages in intercollegiate equestrian competition. FENCING CLUB (169) encourages competitive fencing among members of the university community at the non- varsity level. FIELD HOCKEY CLUB (PS) (352) provides regular team field hockey play below the varsity/jv levels and competition with other schools and club teams. FLOOR HOCKEY (PS) (170) organizes and coordinates a floor hockey league at University Park. FOOTBAG CLUB (T 64) to play, teach, and promote the various forms of competitive and non-competitive foot bag at the Penn State and surrounding community. This includes encouraging new players, organizing compet itive and non-competitive events scheduling group kicks, and providing transportation to the footbag tournaments. GYMNASTICS CLUB (082) provides facilities and supervised instruction for persons interested in gymnastics. INTERLANDIA FOLK DANCERS (104) brings together per sons interested in International folk dancing. ASSOCIATION FOR PALESTINE (PS) (238) provides settings for the examination of social, cultural, and historical tra ditions of the Palestinian people and promotes mutual understanding and friendship between American and Palestinian communities. CARIBBEAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION (039) seeks to share cultural experience with other students through guest lectures, seminars, workshops, field trips, and various social activities. Also acts as a medium for active disse mination of cultural, political, and historical information about the Caribbean Islands and its people. CHINESE FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION (337) presents the culture of China while promoting friendship and mutual understanding between its members and the public. CHINESE STUDENT ASSOCIATION (043) maintains social communication among Chinese students through mov ies, dinners, and weekend activities. EGYPTIAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION (069) aims for a better understanding between American and Egyptian students and promotes the exchange of pertinent and correct information about the Egyptian people. EUROPEAN STUDENT CLUB (376) provides cultural exchanges and promotes understanding and knowledge about Europe. FORMOSA CLUB (284) provides Taiwanese students oppor tunities to interact in the Taiwanese language. FRIENDS OF INDIA (083) sponsors Indian movies and din ners, celebrates Indian holidays, and hosts guest lec turers to promote cultural exchange among Indian students and students from other cultures. BLUE BAND (PS) (160) provides a variety of musical expe riences for its members and musical entertainment for others through concerts, and participation at ath letic events and parades. 217 Chambers Building. COLLOQUY (057) supplements classroom learning with free, student-sponsored programs of speakers and workshops. Colloquy brings famous and sometimes controversial people to campus, including speakers such as David Frost, John Dean, Dan Rather, Dustin Hoffman, Art Buchwald, George Plimpton, and Andrew Young. 212 HUB. CONCERT CHOIR (PS) (212) purpose is to give concerts, both on and off campus, of music for mixed voices encompassing all time periods. EXPERIMENTAL ART ORGANIZATION (266) educates and organizes exhibitions about experimental art forms. It also brings together local experimental art ists. FOLKLORE SOCIETY (078) promotes folklore studies and folk music through dances, lectures and other activities related to the folk arts. 224 HUB. FREE UNIVERSITY (080) was established to bring people of the community together to share common inter ests and to "facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences" through tuition-free courses, workshops and special projects. Free U has offered as many as 100 courses per semester on topics from belly dancing to reading tarot cards. Anyone who wishes may teach a course. 223 HUB. GLEE CLUB (PS) (172) is open to any interested student and serves the university community and public through concerts of music adapted primarily for men's voices. NITTANY DIVERS CLUB (145) sponsors social and sporting events for persons interested in scuba diving and aids in instruction of the proper use of equipment. NITTANY GO CLUB (T 42) encourages the teaching and play ing of Go both as a means of recreation and as a venue for cultural exchange. NITTANY GROTTO CLUB (346) promotes conservation, fellowship, and safety in caving. NITTANY LION RACQUETBALL CLUB (146) promotes the sport of racquetball among students, faculty, and staff and also sponsors instructional clinics, tournaments, and intrauniversity competition. OUTING CLUB MAIN DIVISION (960) promotes outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, sailing, skiing, moun taineering, and equestrian sports through its various divi sions. RIFLE CLUB (PS) (189) enables students, faculty and staff of the university to participate in and enjoy the sport of riflery. RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB (PS) (341) promotes rugby football intercollegiately, as a member of the Eastern Rugby Football Union. Promotes interest in the sport while encouraging good sportsmanship and hospitality to vis iting teams. HELLENIC SOCIETY (PS) (175) promotes and projects the Greek culture through sports, cultural and educational activities. HONG KONG SOCIETY (098) promotes interaction among students from Hong Kong and interest among American students in Hong Kong's social, economic, political and cultural conditions. IRANIAN MOSLEM STUDENT ASSOCIATION (369) presents Islamic standards in relation to daily living and examines world events via discussions, cultural and religious pro grams, seminars and meetings. KOREAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION GRADUATE GROUP (363) represents Korean students and introduces Korean culture to the community via lectures, films, dances, and music. KOREAN UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT ORGANIZATION (213) provides opportunities for Korean undergraduate students to share and learn about cultural differences with students at Penn State. LATIN AMERICAN ASSOCIATION (298) a cultural and edu cational organization which furthers understanding and relations between Spanish and English speaking stu dents. NATIONAL UNION OF IRAQI STUDENTS & YOUTH (T 11) provides cultural exchanges and promotes understand ing and knowledge about Iraq. MODERN ROCK APPRECIATION SOCIETY (113) unites students interested in "modern" music including SKA, Rockabilly, Futurist, Punk, Mod and New Wave. PHILHARMONIC (PS) (196) performs music from sym phonic repertoires in concerts, on and off campus, while developing the talents of its members. SINGING LIONS (PS) (221) under the direction of the music faculty of the College of Arts and Architecture, gives concerts, on and off campus, of music written or adapted for mixed voices. SOUTH HALLS RADIO ASSOCIATION (246) (WSHR) is a student-operated station which broadcasts in the South Halls Area. The station office is located in Redifer Hall. STUDENT FOUNDATION FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS (254) encourages an awareness and appreciation of the performing arts through a variety of profession al productions, special programs, workshops, and demonstrations throughout the school year. 212 HUB. STUDENT UNION BOARD (095) coordinates cocurricular activities in the Hetzel Union Building; from coffee houses and concerts to hypnotists and magicians. SKI TEAM (PS) (191) develops, trains, and participates in competitive snow skiing at many skill levels. SOARING CLUB (T 44) promotes education in the sport of soaring at Penn State. Specifically, the club intends to arrange campus presentations, ground and flight instruc tion in gliders, and intercollegiate soaring competition. SOCCER CLUB (184) serves as a vehicle for year-round enjoyment of soccer. STUDENT SKATING CLUB (PS) (194) stimulates interest in the sport of ice skating and offers instruction in figure skating. STUDENT WRESTLING CLUB (147) supports and promotes the Penn State wrestling team. The club works in con junction with the adults in the Penn State wrestling club at dual matches, at tournaments, with a goal of increas ing awareness of wrestling on the collegiate level. WATER POLO CLUB (PS) (201) promotes the sport of water polo by representing the university in intercollegiate competition. WATER SKI CLUB (PS) (202) promotes the sport of water ski ing through instruction, competition, movies, and speak ers. WOMEN'S LACROSSE CLUB (400) provides the women of the university who desire to play organized lacrosse with an alternative to the existing women's varsity lacrosse program. WOMEN'S SOCCER CLUB (203) provides players the oppor tunity to improve upon and learn new soccer skills, form new friendships, and participate in intercollegiate com petition. ORGANIZATION OF ARAB STUDENTS (150) provides enter tainment and social gatherings for the Arab community in State College. PAKISTAN FORUM (370) provides and encourages cultural, social, and related activities. PUERTO RICAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION (TO9) academi cally enhances Puerto Rican students' educational expe riences. Provides Puerto Rican students professional and social activities that will address their educational and cultural interests. Creates a functional network which facilitates the student's adjustment to the Penn State community. SCANDINAVIAN ACADEMIC SOCIETY (SAS) (T 32) pro motes Scandinavian/American academic, social, and cul tural relations and bonds. TUNISIAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION (262) contributes to the welfare of Tunisian students and promotes stronger mutual understanding between Tunisians and English speaking students. TURKISH STUDENT ASSOCIATION (264) promotes relations and cooperation among its members and acquaints the university community with the Turkish culture through social, cultural, and educational activities. UKRAINIAN STUDENT CLUB (PS) (197) stimulates an inter est in the history, culture, and contemporary devel opments of the Ukraine and its development in the United States by presenting a variety of programs, speak ers, exhibitions, symposia, and cultural events. UNIVERSITY CHOIR (PS) (340) gives concerts, on and off campus, of music written mainly for large mixed choir voices. WPSU RADIO FM 91(277) is the campus broadcasting station. 304 Sparks Building. WPSU offers opportu nities for students to gain practical experience in radio broadcasting and provides students and orga nizations with a means for dissemination of informa tion about activities to the university and Centre Region communities. WEHR EAST HALLS RADIO (1600 AM) (276) a radio sta tion in 104 Johnston Hall reflecting the listening inter ests of the students of East and West Halls. WOMEN IN COMMUNICATIONS INC. (389) unites those engaged in all fields of communications and works for first amendment rights and responsibilities of communicators. Encourages continued professional development and promotes the advancement and equitable treatment of women in communcations. WOMEN'S CHORUS (PS) (317) gives concerts, on and off campus, of music written or adapted for women's voices.
