(AP) Dennis Maruk collected two goals and two assists and Brian Bellows added a pair of goals last night, leading the Minnesota North Stars to a 6-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues that evened their Stanley Cup playoff series at one game apiece. The third and fourth games of the best-of-five Norris Division series will be played tomorrow night and Sunday night in St. Louis. The wide-open game bore little resemblance to Wednesday's contest, which the Blues won 2-1 with a grind ing attack that slowed down both teams' offenses. NFL set to tour the world LONDON (AP) The National Football League is embarking on a series of games around the world, with the first stop a return visit to London this summer. For the time being; at least, the games will involve the league's traditionally U.S.-based teams. But NFL officials would not rule out the long-term possibility of franchises in Europe and Japan. At a news conference to promote the preseason game between the Chicago Bears and the Dallas Cowboys in Wembley Stadium Aug. 3, Joe Rhein, the NFL's director of administration, said the league wants to promote itself outside North America. "The league's long-range planning committee and the clubs both approved the concept of staging a series of games over the next several years here, in Europe, in Japan," Rhein said. "What the exact chronology of those games will be, we don't know. But the idea is to try to go into as many different areas as we can." The game between the defending Super Bowl-champion Bears and the Cowboys, nicknamed "America's Team" for their success over the last decade, "is our first step," Rhein said. "We are very interested to see how we'll do." Women's H4Kkkh Senrkes For The Help You Need Abortion Services Free Pregnancy Tests Confidential Counseling Gyn Check• Ups 107 6th 81..Dawntown Pgh. In both meets, the Lady Lions will face stiff competition while trying to reach their overall goal of securing additional Eastern Colegiate Athletic Conference Championship qualifiers. "Both meets are of national caliber in all events and (the opponents) should challenge us," Head Coach Teri Jordan said. Jordan decided to split the team in two since different events will pre sent stronger competition at each meet. "The Dogwood Relays should have the highest level of national competi tion in the 400-meter dash, 3000- and 5000 meter runs and the jumping events," Jordan said. "On the other hand, the Hoya meet will be excellent for the 800- and 1,500-meter runs." Anne-Louise Shafer and Amy Aston will represent the Lady Lions in the 5,000-meter run. AAH! D.J.
