The magazine will contain informa tion about campus and town life, editorials pertinent to the student population, and features about Uni versity landmarks. . If he does not get the additional $4,- 000, Parvensky said he will still pub lish but will cut corners, even if it means changing the color front page to black and white and reducing the size of the magazine. Nineteen volunteer staff members will handle writing, editing, layout and graphic work, Parvensky said. Parvensky hopes to publish month ly, with a large issue once a semester. The monthly issues scaled-down versions, of the first issue will hajndle letters and questions about University problems and policies. “If there were one out now, it would be on the Campus Loop,” he said, explaining that someone would inves tigate why the Loop is out of service for the summer and whether or not it was a good decision. Since the lab was established at Penn State in 1945 the employees have been excluded from the now lucrative, $3 billion state pension plan because the laboratory is funded mostly by the U.S. Navy. But their pensions are not secured by the Federal Civil Service Retire ment System either, said Lynn B. Herman, R-Centre County, co-spon sor of House Bill 870. Another inequity, Wagner ex plained, concerns disability pay ments.
