In an early-morning assault, members from the campus's Monty Python society left a strange mark on campus. "Anyone's who old enough to read should be able to understand it," said one Python member who asked to re main anonymous. As you can tell by the not-so strange photo on the left, the Pythons decided to rename Grange Building, which is at the corner of Pollock and Shortlidge roads. Considering what goes on in the "real" Grange Building, maybe the renaming is not far off the mark. House 'method for bad fish: shampoo A funny thing happened to Eileen Willey (graduate-agriculture) on the way to the bathroom in the house she shares on McKee Street. Actually, the funny thing happened THE PATHFINDER CROSS COUNTRY SKI CLOSE OUT (ThE PAThfiNdER IS CiETTINCii OUT Of TIE CROSS COUNTRY Ski bUSINESS) PACkAq ES athritid to her on the way back from the bathroom. We should trace this story back to its beginning. Willey was in the pro cess of preparing a $l2 fillet of Had dock for herself and her roommates. Of course, what's fish without some lemon juice? According to one of her roommates, Michele Forner, Willey couldn't find the lemon juice in the kitchen, but she did find what she thought was a bottle of lemon juice in the bathroom. Despite finding the liquid in the bathroom, Willey put it on the fish: Willey's roommates, Trish Norton (14th-arts), Randy Cleaver (10th arts) and Forner (Bth communications studies), ate the fish. Eileen wanted to know how it tasted. "I took a bite and it tasted like soap! I told her that and said 'Maybe it's the fish!' " Forner said. "We finally looked at what was in the bottle and discovered that our missing roommate (who will remain nameless) had used the empty bottle to put conditioner for her hair," Forner said. "We tried to wash the fish, but it didn't help." 30-40% OFF Old mascot plays role one last time The power of positive thinking does work. At least it did in the case of former Nittany Lion mascot Cliff Fiscus and a friend. According to Fiscus, who is now director of volunteer services at the University, he ' and a friend, Scott Dale, wanted to io the Ohio State- University of Michigan game over Thanksgiving break.' Fiscus said the two were determin ed to get:into the game any way possible. Any way possible had the two enter ing a Columbus, Ohio,.costume shop the day before the game. , . "We told the guys at the costume shop, we were from the Ohio State cheerleaders," Fiscus said. "They gave us the works." Fiscus dressed as an Indian and Dale was outfitted as a pilgrim. "The guys from ABC (yes, the television network) told us to tell 'em we were , with the band," Fiscus said. "We just walked through and the next thing you knew we were on the field. rak ROSSIGNOL - 7 11-1 AS [Ow AS ; I ) 77 ALL SALES FINAL Monday-Friday \, Saturday Sunday 137 E. Beaver Avenue "After being the Lion and all, it felt kind of like being at home," Fiscus said."l didn't have any ties to Ohio State so I just decided I was going to be crazy. It was hard for Scott. It's kind of hard to get crazy in a pilgrim suit." Today's military: orders and ducks Once upon a time in a war zone far, far away, there was a general's coded order sent to a Naval officer. Sup posedly it was to warn him of an im pending doom that awaited him upon his arrival near Eagle's Cove in Alabama. More recently it has been found as part of a military poster entitled: "Thirteen Instructions Every Naval Officer Should Know." It reads: "Sir, in case of attack, cir cle the ships and prepare to quack." Who knows? Maybe it's a line from a future "John Wayne Story" starr ing Daffy Duck.
