Barton (10th-animal science) was arrested Wednesday in connection with an attempted theft Tuesday from Pattee of a book valued at $9.95, University Police Services reported. State College Police reported a collision between a police car and a Volkswagen driven by Deborah A. Lehrer, Lauck St., State College, that occurred Tuesday at the intersection of S. Atherton St. and Piersol Lane. Lehrer told police she was travelling • across Atherton Street from Piersol Lane to Sunrise Terrace when the police car turned left from Sunrise Terrace onto Atherton and struck the left-hand side of her car. He pulled out, intending to turn into the middle lane of Atherton Street, and struck Lehrer's car. Lehrer told police she had no turn signal on before she negotiated the intersection, and two witnesses to the 'accident said they saw no signal light on her car prior to the collision. Damage to the police car was $5OO. Lehrer's vehicle sustained $4OO in dathages, police said. University .
