Dances” a perfect piece for a
smaller virtuoso group, such
as the Los Angeles Chamber
Orchestra, to demonstrate it’s
skills.
album review
Those who are familiar with
the high standards acheived
over the years by Neville
Marriner and his Academy of
St. Martin-in-the-Fields will
not be disappointed with the
Los Angeles Chamber Or
chestra’s fine performance on
this record. Marriner, as the
first artistic director and con
ductor of this relatively new
ensemble, is clearly in his own
element here. He essentially
has managed to create an
American version of the
Academy of St. Martin-in-the-
Fields.
The overall quality of this
Angel 4-Channel SQ recording
is reasonably good.
