These are the tests that students generally take when they enter the University. No fees are charged for these exams. For advanced courses, where a $l5 per credit fee is charged, students will still receive letter grades. In other action, the Senate reviewed its policies on 20 years ago when searching for rare books in antique shops. Perotti at one time had more than 500 watches. "Mass ptoduction of watch es actually began in this country and the Swiss borrowed the idea and im proved upon it," Perotti said. Perotti said the value of an American antique watch 9 ,8 6 9 f, 111-oz. pkg. simultaneous and sequential .degree programs. The Senate made changes in its present policy in order to clarify it. To earn a simultaneous degree, a student must earn 30 credits more than he would need to earn for his first degree. He would receive two diplomas. For a sequential degree, a University graduate after being read mitted, must earn 30 credits and meet University requirements for the ad ditional degree. An amendment proposed by the student senator caucus that requires students to have a 2.0 grade point average instead of a 2.5 average to apply for a simultaneous depends largely upon whether it runs, its physical condition and its serial number. The earlier the serial number, the older and more valuable the watch will be. All major and college requirements for both majors must -be com pleted to earn a double major. Student -transcripts note double majors, however students will only receive one degree. The Senate also heard a number of informational reports. A survey on tuition reduction programs for University employes showed that many universities have such a program. The Senate also heard reports on grading and the faculty club. owned," Perotti said The first American watches were modeled after clocks, but had only one hand, ac cording to Perotti. What they need is a friend. Someone to act as confidant and guide. Perhaps, it could be.you as a Salesian Priest or Brother. The Salesians of St. John Bosco were founded in 1859 to serve youth. Unlike other orders whose apostolate has changed with varying conditions, the Salesians always have been,— and will be, youth oriented. Today we're helping to prepare young sters for the world that awaits them tomorrow. Not an easy task but one which we welcome. And how do we go About it? By following the precepts of our founder, Don Bosco. To crowd out evil with reason, religion and kindness with a method of play, learn and pray. We're trying to build better communities by helping to create better men. i As a Salesian, you are guaranteed the chance to help the young in a wide range of endeavor ... as guidance counsel ors, technical, and academic teachers, as coaches, psychologists ... in boys clubs, summer camps ... as mission aries. And you are given the kind of training you need to achieve your aims. . The Salesian family is a large one (we are the third largest order) but a warm one. A community with an enthusiastic family ,7 feeling where not only our talents are shared but our short comings, too. If you feel as we do, that service to youth can be an important mission in your life, we welcome your interest. r ........m................
